There are a number of different weather events that can happen in Roblox Grow a Garden, but few are as rare and exciting as chocolate rain. Weather events affect all servers simultaneously, increasing crop growth and applying mutations. Some of these mutations can be incredibly rare and significantly increase the value of your growing crops. When it comes to chocolate rain, this isn't your usual weather event that you'll witness by default.

How to Get Chocolate Rain in Grow a Garden
The chocolate rain weather event can only be triggered by an admin of Grow a Garden. It was most recently triggered in the early hours of May 27, 2025. This means that you can't do anything in-game yourself to cause chocolate rain to fall. You'll just have to wait and hope you're lucky enough to be playing when an experienced admin triggers the event again.

Grow a Garden Chocolate Mutation, Explained
Chocolate rain causes the Chocolate mutation to occur, which applies a 2x multiplier on the crop or fruit's sale price. This can make a huge difference when selling crops and fruits, which are already very valuable, but can also give new players a bit of a head start on their garden growing adventure.
You can tell when your plants have the chocolate mutation as they will turn brown.
Other Ways to Get Chocolate Mutation
The only other known way to get the chocolate mutation is to place a Chocolate Sprinkler next to any multi-use plant, such as strawberries or blueberries. However, the Chocolate Sprinkler was only obtainable during the 2025 Easter event, when it could be purchased for 500,000 Sheckles.
At the time of writing, it has not been confirmed if the Chocolate Sprinkler will be available again in future Easter events. The sprinkler's proximity was marked with a green circle radius around it, as shown in the screenshot above.

Wet and Chilled offer the same 2x multiplier as Chocolate, and Frozen offers a 10x multiplier. As such, while it's cool to witness Chocolate Rain in Grow a Garden, the Chocolate mutation itself isn't anything that special.
