The Civilization 7 launch date is right around the corner, and fans are eager to get back into the celebrated strategy series with this highly anticipated next entry. Depending on which Civ 7 edition you purchase, or which Time Zone you live in, you may be able to play Civ 7 earlier than the announced release date.

Civ 7 has an Advanced Access release date and a standard release date, and though it is set to launch on all platforms, it will only launch at the same time on PC. This guide explains when Civ 7 will be released for both the Early Access and standard launch dates, and goes into the specific Civilization 7 launch times for the console and PC versions of the game.

Updated February 3, 2025 by Erik Petrovich: With official confirmation from Firaxis on the Civilization 7 launch times for console and PC, this guide has been updated to remove outdated rumors and leaks with official information. Check the Civ 7 release time for your preferred platform in new sections dedicated to the console Civ 7 release time and the PC Civ 7 release time. Because of how the release schedules work for both platforms, you may be able to play Civ 7 a bit earlier than the official February 6 and 11 launch dates (advanced access and standard release, respectively). But many players, especially PC players who are east of the U.S. EST time zone, will have to wait a bit longer than others to get into the new Civ.

Civilization 7 Release Date & Time

Civ 7 Standard & Advanced Access Launch Dates

There are two launch dates for Civilization 7: one for the Early Access release date, and one for the standard edition release date. Civilization 7 fans who purchased either the Deluxe or Founders' Editions of Civ 7 will be able to access the game about five days earlier than players who purchase the Standard Edition.

Currently, Civilization 7 is set to launch on February 11, 2025 on PC and PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox consoles. But if you have Civ 7 Advanced Access, you will be able to play Civ 7 early on February 6, 2025.

Civ 7 Advanced Access is locked behind the two upgraded Civ 7 editions – pre-ordering the Standard Edition won't grant Early Access, Civ 7 players just get the Tecumseh and Shawnee pack for pre-ordering.

If you bought the Standard Edition, but want to play Civ 7 early, you can upgrade to the Deluxe or Founders' Edition of Civ 7 before the Standard launch date and still get in a few days early.

Currently, Civ 7 pre-load is exclusive to console players (Switch, PlayStation, & Xbox). PC players may not be able to pre-load Civ 7, based on official information revealed so far.

Civilization 7 Console Release Time

Civilization 7 will launch at different times for console and PC players. For players who plan to play Civ 7 on Switch, PlayStation, or Xbox consoles, the game will unlock at Midnight on February 6, 2025 in Advanced Access, and on February 11 for Standard Edition in your local time.

However, console U.S. Players to the west of the EST time zone (CST, MST, PST) will be able to play the game concurrently with the EST midnight release – players in the PST time zone will be able to play on consoles as early as 9 p.m. On February 5, 2025.

For ease, refer to the table below for the exact Civ 7 console release times for a variety of time zones across the world as provided by Firaxis.

Civilization 7 PC Release Time

PC players will be able to play Civ 7 at the same time as the midnight EST launch on February 6 – though most console players will have to wait until midnight in their local time to play Civ 7, PC launches across the world concurrently.

U.S. Players to the west of the EST time zone will still be able to play the game earlier than February 6, 2025, but if you live in a time zone to the east of EST, you may have to wait until later in the day on February 6 in your local time. This means most console players across the world will get access to the game significantly earlier than PC players – and there is no PC pre-load available, which adds more time players must wait to get into the new Civ on PC.
