In Civilization 7, there are a lot of concepts that are interconnected. For example, in order to build a Factory in Civ 7, a settlement must be connected to the player's Capital by railroad. Therefore, gamers need to unlock specific Technologies and construct other buildings to set it up.
How to Destroy Enemy Ships and Boats in Civ 7
When they're first starting out, Civ 7 players may not have the units needed to destroy hostile ships. Thankfully, it won't take long to get them.
Fishing Quays may seem like any other water building, but there is more to them than meets the eye. Therefore, at some point in the game, players will be building a few of them across their settlements. This guide shows gamers how to building Fishing Quays in Civ 7, and it also explains why they're such an important building.
Why You Should Build a Fishing Quay in Civilization 7
As mentioned above, even though they become available during the Antiquity Age, Fishing Quays are particularly important later on.
In the Exploration Age, players can settle in the Distant Lands and collect Treasure Resources. However, since the Distant Lands are separated from the player's Homeland by sea, gamers will need a Treasure Fleet to transport the goods.
Treasure Fleets will only spawn in a settlement if the player has researching Shipbuilding and built a Fishing Quay. Therefore, if players don't set up Fishing Quays on their Distant Land settlement, they won't be able to spawn Treasure Fleets and get points towards the Economic Legacy Path as well as a significant amount of gold.
But that's not all - Fishing Quays are Ageless buildings that grant +1 Food and 1 additional Food for Fishing Boat improvements
How to Build a Fishing Quay in Civilization 7
The Fishing Quay is unlocked pretty early on. However, since they're an important part of obtaining a Treasure Fleet in Civilization 7, and this only becomes available in the Exploration Age, it's likely that gamers will have forgotten about this quaint building by then.
To unlock the Fishing Quay building in Civilization 7, players must research the Sailing Technology. Sailing is one of the first Technologies available on the Civ 7 Antiquity Tech Tree; it becomes available right after researching Agriculture, Civ 7's starting Technology.
Players will find the Fishing Quay in the Buildings section in their settlement's Production menu. Fishing Quays must be placed on Coast, Lake, or Navigable River tiles.
