Most Overpowered Skills In Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Ranked
Party members in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will be more than just well armed with these downright overpowered skills.
The goal of any JRPG is to get as strong as possible in as little time as possible. That’s why using these skills in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 at the start of battle is important to speed through the game. Also, these are just good skills to use to set up a boss battle and clinch that sweet victory. Let's go through most of the party members and see what skills to use with them if they are in the party.
5 Lune
Using The Elements
- Storm Caller: Imbue Allies With Lightning Magic
- Terraquake: Attack Enemy Party With Earth Magic
- Typhoon: Attack Enemy Party With Ice Magic And Casts Regen On Allies
- Wildfire: Attack Enemy Party With Fire Magic
Lune is the mage of the group in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 who can deal devastating elemental damage or support the party via healing magic. Storm Caller is a good starting example because it will imbue the party with lightning-based magic, making every hit of theirs tack on additional damage. Typhoon is another great one, as it will continually do ice-based damage to the enemy party and heal the ally party.
Terraquake is a stronger elemental attack, earth-based, that will cause additional Break damage to enemies in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Broken enemies will lower their guard and take more damage, along with losing a turn. Finally, if the enemy party is weak to fire, Wildfire is a good starter to use as it will also cause Burn damage. Burn damage will hurt enemies over time, similar to a poison effect in other RPGs.
4 Maelle
Fire It Up
- Breaking Rules: Destroy Enemy’s Shields
- Degagement: Make Enemy Weak To Fire
- Guard Up: Cast Shell On Party
- Guard Down: Cast Defenceless On Enemy Party
Lune has some good ways to Burn enemies, but Maelle is the queen of Burn and fire in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Degagement is a great skill to use on an enemy as it will cause them to be weak to fire-based attacks temporarily. Lune and Maelle can take advantage of this weakness with their fire-based skills, and Burn damage can stack, but obviously don’t cast it if the enemy is already weak to fire.
8 Strongest Characters In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Ranked
From NPCs to party members, these Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 characters can demolish small cities if they want.
For example, using Spark or Rain of Fire after casting Degagement is a good strategy. If players are facing a known tough enemy group, they can lower their defenses with Guard Down, which will cast Defenceless on them. Furthermore, if they have damage-negating Shields up, Breaking Rules will destroy their Shields. Finally, the opposite of Guard Down, Guard Up, will improve the ally party’s defenses via Shell.
3 Monoco
Many Learnable Talents
- Boucheclier Fortify: Cast Shell On Party
- Chapelier Slash: Attack Enemy Party And Mark Them
- Orphelin Cheers: Cast Powerful On Party
- Pelerin Heal: Cast Regen On Party
- Potier Energy: Give AP To Allies
Monoco is the Blue Mage equivalent of the group in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, meaning he can learn abilities from monsters fought. Chapelier Slash is one of the strongest skills in the game, and it is a good way to start things off. It will strike the enemy party and cause them to be Marked, and Marked enemies will take more damage.
Pelerin Heal will cast Regen on the party, which will heal them over time. Boucheclier Fortify will cast the aforementioned Shell on the party, and Orphelin Cheers will cast Powerful on them, which will increase attack power. Finally, if the party needs AP at the start of battle, Potier Energy can spread the AP wealth around, and AP is needed to use skills.
2 Sciel
A Dark Supporter
- All Set: Cast Powerful, Rush, And Shell On Party
- Dark Wave: Attack Enemy Party With Dark Magic
Lune is a mage gifted in elemental and healing magic, while Sciel is a tarot master in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, capable of using dark magic and supporting the party with buffs. Every skill cast with Sciel will create a Sun or Moon card. If used one after the other, this will shift Sciel into her Twilight phase, which will increase damage. When Sciel is in the party, reaching Twilight is the goal.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Most Overpowered Lumina Combinations That Can Break The Game
Make the most of your five-party system with these build types in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Casting All Set, a Sun skill, and Dark Wave, a Moon skill, is an effective way to achieve Twilight quickly. All Set will imbue the party with the Powerful and Shell buffs, along with Rush, which will increase turn order. Dark Wave is an average dark-based attack that will damage all enemies.
1 Verso
Breaking Through
- Defiant Strike: Attack One Enemy And Mark Them
- Powerful: Cast Powerful On Party
Verso is more of a damage dealer and cannot support the party much in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Still, being a damage dealer is support in its own way. His one good support ability is Powerful, which has been covered many times over on here. If the party attacks strong from round one, they will be sitting pretty for at least three rounds.
Defiant Strike will only attack one foe, but it is cheap to use and it does decently high damage. After every hit, it will cause an enemy to be Marked, which is a nice way to set up the rest of the party. Some skills work better on Marked targets, which is why players should always try to make the party work with each other instead of going off and being mavericks. Always read skills before equipping them is the overall message.
