Bourgeon Skin is a quest item in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. As with many of the game's quest items, the purpose of this one is not made immediately obvious. This lack of clarity may leave players with questions about what they should do with Bourgeon Skins in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and this guide is here to provide answers.
It is not requisite that players do anything with their Bourgeon Skins, and they should feel free to hold on to them if they do not find the rewards that are detailed in this guide of particular interest.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Reveals How Long It Takes to Beat
One of Xbox's biggest Game Pass titles for April, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, divulges the average amount of time it will take players to complete.
What to Do With Bourgeon Skin in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 players who want to put their
Bourgeon Skin to use should visit the Small Bourgeon, a discrete map that is just southwest of the Ancient Sanctuary. As is the case with all the game's discrete maps, this one is accessed via a protal on the Continent, and its position can be seen on the map that is above.
Upon entering the Small Bourgeon, players should pass by the Expedition Flag and speak with the small Nevron in the open area. This conversation will reveal that the creature desires some Bourgeon Skin, and players who have obtained that item will be prompted to hand it over.
After giving the small Bourgeon some Bourgeon Skin, players should leave and re-enter the map. Upon re-entry, players will find that the Bourgeon has grown, and they should speak with the creature to cause an item to appear on the ground across from it. That item is a
Colour of Lumina, which players can give to the Curator at their camps in order to increase a character's maximum Lumina Points by one.
Players who fight and defeat the Grown Bourgeon will receive 5x Colour of Lumina and 1x Polished Chroma Catalyst. The latter of those two items can be used when upgrading a weapon in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 from Level 3 to Level 9. That said, it is recommended that players leave the Nevron alone, as doing so ultimately leads to a much better reward.
Where to Get Bourgeon Skin in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
While it is expected that most readers will already be in possession of a Bourgeon Skin, a situation could arise in which a player encounters the small Bourgeon before they have obtained the relevant quest item. For those players who find themselves in that situation, the key to obtaining a Bourgeon Skin is defeating a Bourgeon, large Nevrons that can be found in several locations. Here are the positions for two Bourgeons, and players should make sure they are adequately prepared before engaging them in combat, as these enemies are a bit difficult to beat:
- There is a Bourgeon on the Flying Waters map. To reach it, players should make their way to the Lumieran Street Expedition Flag and do a bit of backtracking. As players backtrack, they should look for a path through the plants on their left, which leads directly to the Bourgeon.
- There is a Bourgeon near the entrance to the Meadows, on the Peninsula to the east of Flying Waters. Notably, players will need to reach Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's second act before they can access this area.
