The Esoteric Ruins is an optional location in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 that is home to a passive Nevron. This Nevron offers a quest that centers around retrieving a special item, and players who hope to complete it will need to work through a maze. This guide will help players address the Esoteric Ruins maze in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and it details the position of every item that can be found along the way.
The aforementioned passive Nevron initially manifests as a blue orb that players will encounter as they approach the map's only expedition flag.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 - Esoteric Ruins Maze Puzzle Solution (& All Collectibles)
Paint Cage
After climbing the handholds and gold thread that are beyond the Lumiere's Wreck expedition flag, follow the slope downward to run into a Paint Cage. Break the three locks at these locations to open the container:
- Continue down the slope and look in the alcove to the right.
- At the bottom of the slope, look past the stone statue of the seated figure.
- Look to the left to find a lock across a small gap.
Colour of Lumina
Return to the bottom of the slope and follow the path on its side. Fall at the end to enter a corridor that leads to a
Colour of Lumina.
Maze Solution
Return to the statue of the seated figure and pass it to enter the maze. The preceding image assigns numbers to each of the rooms in the maze, and the following instructions will help players get through it:
- Enter the maze. This is Room 1.
- Shoot the brazier in Room 1.
- Enter Room 2. Shoot the brazier in Room 1 from Room 2.
- Shoot the brazier in Room 2.
- Enter Room 4.
- Enter Room 5.
- Enter Room 6. Shoot the brazier in Room 5 from Room 6.
- Enter Room 9.
- Enter Room 8 and exit the maze.
Colour of Lumina
Immediately after exiting the maze, look left to find a Colour of Lumina.
Wood Boards
There is a quest item on the ground across from the maze's exit.
Colour of Lumina
There is another Lumina Point-granting item on the ground to the right of the Wood Boards.
Protecting Heal (Pictos)
Players should now use the grapple points to exit the area beyond the maze and then return to the blue orb at the beginning of the map. Players who give the Wood Boards that they collected to this orb will receive the
Protecting Heal Pictos.
Players can earn some Colour of Luminas and a
Chroma Catalyst by defeating Portier after handing over the Wood Boards. That said, it is recommended that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 players leave the Nevron alone, as doing so ultimately leads to a better reward.
