While Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 does not feature an extremely expansive fast travel system, there are opportunities for players to instantly warp between certain locations. Those opportunities arise when exploring the game's discrete maps, allowing players to quickly move around the Spring Meadows, Flying Waters, and beyond. This guide is here to elaborate upon that system, and it will give players a solid understanding of how fast travel works in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

How to Fast Travel in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

The world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is split into two parts: discrete, linear maps and a semi-open world (the Continent) that is used to move between those maps. The game's preliminary discrete maps include the Spring Meadows, Flying Waters, and Ancient Sanctuary, and players will use the Continent to access their entry portals.

With respect to fast travel, it can only be done on discrete maps, like the ones that have just been mentioned. More specifically, fast travel can only be used to move between the Expedition Flags that a player has already visited on those maps. For full clarity, Expedition Flags are, essentially, checkpoints at which Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 players can rest, upgrade their attributes, and learn skills, and they will encounter them as they work their way through discrete maps.

Once a player has visited at least two Expedition Flags on a discrete map in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, they will find that a "Fast Travel" option is available when interacting with a Flag. Selecting that option will bring up a list of all the Flags that the player has activated on the current map, and they can click on one to be instantly transported to it.

Players will ultimately unlock a feature that allows them to instantly travel from any Expedition Flag to the Continent.

Fast Traveling Between Maps in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

While Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 does not allow players to instantly travel between discrete maps, they can easily move between them via the Continent. Indeed, the portals that are used to access locations like the Flying Waters and Ancient Sanctuary are almost always accessible from the overworld map, allowing players to easily revisit locations whenever doing so is of interest.

Furthermore, it does not actually take very long to move across the Continent, despite how big it may seem when looking at its map. Players will also unlock mechanics and pathways that allow them to cross the Continent even more quickly as they continue their time with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. While this increased speed never quite rivals the instantaneous teleportation that a comprehensive fast travel system would support, players should find that it is not very difficult to traverse the continent without one.
