Many optional boss fights in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are as challenging as the main story bosses, if not more so. The Chromatic Danseuse is a dangerous optional boss that manifests two more mirror versions of itself, so you're essentially fighting three at once. It alternates between fire and ice, as well as attack and defense. On top of that, it's extremely difficult to parry and dodge when it strikes multiple times in succession, and it can do a lot of damage.
The Chromatic Danseuse can be easily overlooked, as players must return to a prior area in the story in order to encounter it. For those looking to take it on, here's how to locate and defeat the Chromatic Danseuse in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Where To Find The Chromatic Danseuse In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
To find the Chromatic Danseuse, you must finish the Old Lumiere mission in Act 2 first. You can return later or fight it straight away. However, the party should be at least Level 33 before attempting this optional boss fight.
To locate the Chromatic Danseuse, go back to Old Lumiere and use the flag to fast travel to the Train Station Ruins. Take the path north, and you'll spot the Chromatic Danseuse wandering around with a black portal behind it. Follow the path and descend the platforms to initiate the fight, but make sure your party is healed first.

The Chromatic Danseuse is a fast and powerful adversary that will summon two clones to fight alongside it. Their element-based attacks are just as dangerous, and they also switch between fire and ice stances, sometimes in opposition to the original Chromatic Danseuse.
The enemies will target one member of the party with a series of ice and fire attacks, depending on their stance. Their ice attacks can inflict freeze status. After freezing a party member, all three enemies will attempt a Gradient attack, which deals massive damage. So, ensure that at least one party member doesn't have a fire or ice-based weapon.
Lumina For The Fight
The Chromatic Danseuse's attacks are difficult to parry due to their speed, so try dodging if you're having trouble getting the timing right. In the likely event that a party member gets frozen, ensure the team has the
Healing Share and
Cleansing Tint Luminas active.
- Healing Share will ensure that the remaining two party members get 15 percent of all heals.
- Cleansing Tint will cure all status effects, including Freeze.
If you have it, give Lune the
Effective Heal Lumina to double all heals received.
The Chromatic Danseuse will absorb and heal when the party uses the same element in fire or ice stances to attack them.
Attacks To Use In Battle
To defeat the Chromatic Danseuse, avoid attacking the clones other than using regular and Gradient Parries. The Chromatic Danseuse can summon more if you kill them. Focus all the party's attacks on the middle one. It's a good idea to mark it first and then attack with Verso's
Blitz, which can deal 9999 damage and grant him another turn. Verso's Gradient Attack,
Sabotage, can inflict up to 9999 damage and mark all enemies for damage.
Use Lune's strongest elemental attacks to combat the fire or ice stances. When the Chromatic Danseuse eventually falls, you'll still have to deal with the remaining clones. Thankfully, their HP is much lower than that of the original, so finish them off accordingly.
When the battle is over, the party will gain 11,228 Chroma, 111,439 XP, a
Danseso Level 10 weapon for Verso, a Revive Paradox Level 11 Pictos, x6
Polished Chroma Catalyst, and x15
Colour of Lumina.
