To beat Chromatic Ramasseur in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, players have to counter all of its attacks.
As players venture into the Sadness Vale inside the Visages area, they can come across this optional boss roaming in a hidden path. Immediately after starting the boss fight, Chromatic Ramasseur will start attacking viciously. It will never stop attacking, no matter how long the fight continues. This is just pure game mechanics, and Chromatic Ramasseur is not insanely fast, nor are the characters underleveled.
To beat Chromatic Ramasseur, players should not dodge its attacks, but instead parry them. The boss only has three different attacks, so it’s easy to memorize the attack patterns after multiple tries. The first attack is called a combo with a Nevron arm, and Chromatic Ramasseur has two patterns while doing this combo. The first pattern is by attacking the character for four quick hits, while the second is exactly the same, but eight times instead. So, whenever the game suggests that Chromatic Ramasseur is doing a combo with a Nevron arm, be ready to parry it four or eight times.
That being said, the third Chromatic Ramasseur attack is a devastating one that has a tiny window of parrying. Not only that, but it one-shot a character if players don’t parry it on time. When Chromatic Ramasseur performs a mortal hit, it will charge the attack for a few seconds before unleashing a strong strike, dealing a lot of damage in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The boss will use this moveset after a few Nevron arm combos. When it’s time for Chromatic Ramasseur to use mortal hit, it’s better to just dodge it than take chances with parrying, since it’s not even rewarding if players land the parry. So, it’s better to live and parry on another day.
