There are a lot of bosses roaming around The Continent in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. This makes the open-world exploration both exciting and challenging, especially for players who are seeking new Pictos or tough enemies to beat up.

Among the optional bosses that may give players a hard time is a Nevron called Grosse Tete in Expedition 33. This boss only has one attack, but it can hit for an overwhelmingly long time, requiring players to stay on their toes to avoid damage.

Grosse Tete In Expedition 33

There are two methods to beat Grosse Tete in Expedition 33:

  • Survive the boss's attacks until it bounces over 20 times, after which the boss will self-destruct.
  • Use pure power to bring down the Grosse Tete's HP to zero.

The boss has around two million HP, so if players choose the second method, it's best to do it after beating the Paintress and getting the Painted Power Pictos, which allows players to exceed 9999 damage in Expedition 33.

It's highly recommended to bring Monoco to this battle so that you can get a new Monoco skill in Expedition 33.

Beating Grosse Tete will reward players with:

How To Beat Grosse Tete In Expedition 33

Grosse Tete only has one attack, which is hitting the entire team by bouncing. At first, Grosse Tete only bounces two times, but as the fight goes on, the boss will increase the bouncing rate and speed. Thankfully, since the boss only has one move, it's easy to understand the rhythm and use Dodge or Parry to avoid hits.

If you manage to survive Grosse Tete's endless bounces, the boss will explode, and you'll win the battle. This is the first method of beating Grosse Tete, which can be done in the midgame.

Using Brute Force Against Grosse Tete

If players wish to beat Grosse Tete in Expedition 33 by taking down the boss's HP to zero, first, they must know that Grosse Tete is weak to Ice and Dark Elements. The boss also fights alone, so players can focus on using single-target damage-dealing abilities instead of AoE attacks.

Since Grosse Tete's attacks are AoE, a successful Parry is crucial to add extra damage to the boss during counterattacks. It's highly recommended to Parry the boss's early attacks since Grosse Tete only bounces a few times in the first few turns. If the team is built with enough Crit Rate and has either Ice or Dark weapons, the counterattack can significantly hurt the boss.

If the fight goes on for a long time, the boss may end up bouncing endlessly and eventually exploding. Therefore, players can use Slow debuff or Rush buff to make the enemy play less, and the team play more. Applying Defenceless debuff and Powerful buff is also important to shorten the fight.

Another method to weaken the Grosse Tete in Expedition 33 is by using the break mechanics. Fill up the boss's yellow break bar (underneath the HP bar), then use a skill with the Can Break tag to break the Grosse Tete. Once broken, the boss will be stunned for one turn, and a prompt saying the boss is more vulnerable will appear.

If players haven't explored enough of The Continent, the easiest way to break an enemy is by using Monoco's Ramasseur Bonk skill. Some of Lune's skills are also great for making a break team comp in Expedition 33. For a faster break, the team can use Pictos like Staggering Attack, Breaker, and Breaking Attack combined with Combo Attack I, Energising Attack I, and Breaking Shots.
