While players can minimize the damage that they take in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with well-timed dodges and parries, it is very likely that they will occasionally need to heal their party members. There are several ways for players to perform that action, and the options that are available are contingent upon whether their parties are in or out of combat. This guide is here to detail those options, and it will help players heal up their characters in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
If, after using the healing methods detailed in the guide, a player is still struggling to survive, they may want to lower the difficulty, through Gameplay Settings, until they get a better grasp on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's dodge and parry mechanics.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Reveals How Long It Takes to Beat
One of Xbox's biggest Game Pass titles for April, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, divulges the average amount of time it will take players to complete.
How to Heal in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
Chroma Elixirs
Chroma Elixirs can be used when out of combat to fully heal all party members in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Players will begin the game with just one Chroma Elixir, which will replenish every time they rest at an Expedition Flag, and they will earn additional charges through exploration.
Here is how players can use their Chromas Elixirs when out of combat:
- PC: Press Q, then hold Q.
- PlayStation: Press Triangle, then hold Triangle.
- Xbox: Press Y, then hold Y.
Rest
Players can fully heal all party members when out of combat by resting at an Expedition Flag. Players will encounter these Flags as they work through the various maps. Players can also find an Expedition Flag in the Camp that is accessible when traversing the Continent, an overworld that is used to travel between the discrete maps in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Healing Tints
Healing Tints are the red potions that are displayed within the Expedition Menu, and players can use them to heal party members when in combat. To do this, players should simply select "Items" when choosing a character's combat action, select Healing Tint, and then confirm the character who is to receive its healing.
Using a Healing Tint, or any other Tint, immediately ends the character's turn.
As is the case with Chroma Elixirs, Healing Tint charges are replenished every time a player rests at an Expedition Flag. Additionally, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 players will increase their maximum Healing Tint charges, and improve their efficacy, by collecting Healing Tint Shards and Shapes of Health during their journeys.
Skills
There are several Skills that players can use to heal their party members when in combat. Here are some of the earliest healing skills to which players can gain access, and they should look to learn them when visiting an Expedition Flag:
-
Gustave:
Recovery,
From Fire
-
Lune:
Healing Light
How to Use Potions (Tints) in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
The aforementioned red Healing Tints are not the only potions in the game, as there are also Energy Tints (blue) and Revive Tints (green). Just like Healing Tints, these additional potions can be used in combat by selecting "Items" during a character's turn and then choosing the Tint that is of interest. Notably, the charges of these Tints are also replenished when resting at an Expedition Flag, and players will increase their max charges by collecting the associated Tint Shards.
