At the start of the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 story, things go wrong, and Lune is the one to pull things together. Without her, Expedition 33 wouldn’t have made it past anything. And that’s the case during combat as well. She’s a very useful character, whether players decide to build Lune to deal damage or support her allies.
Her Stain mechanics are fun and add some complexity to her gameplay, unless players build Lune to always generate the correct Stains for the next Skill. For that, here are the best builds for Lune in Clair Obscur Expedition 33.
Updated on December 15, 2025, by Nahda Nabiilah: Lune is easily one of the best characters in E33. She has a wide variety of skills that make her useful in any situation for any team. That also means that Lune can enjoy many builds based on the role she's playing in her team. With the game dropping some new items that match Lune's gameplay, this guide will be updated to add an endgame Lune build in Expedition 33.
Lune Early Game Build In Expedition 33
The best early build for Lune in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 revolves around the support role, mostly because Maelle is a potent early-game DPS. Lune can continuously heal her allies, which is rare among the other characters in the early game. Unfortunately, it’s hard to find a healing weapon or Luminas in the early game, but that doesn’t change how useful this Lune Expedition 33 build is.

Strategy (Lune Early Game Build)
Having a sustain character in the team is crucial in the early game since it simplifies every combat encounter. Lune can cleanse, heal, and revive, which is everything you need from a support in Expedition 33. Using her healing Skills also generates a lot of Light Stains that help her amplify the utility of her other healing and non-healing Skills.
Being a support is not only about sustainability. Lune can help her team offensively by applying Burn DoT with her
Immolation Skill, which unlocks a lot of potential for her team. Most characters have Skills that synergize with the Burn DoT, so Lune will use her turn to apply Burn, and that will improve the team’s rotation. Additionally, Lune can break enemies’ shields by using
Electrify or wasting some AP on her Aim Shots. She can easily regenerate her AP back by using Thermal Transfer. This Skill doesn’t even end her turn, it’s just a free AP regeneration Skill.

That Lune build doesn’t mean she can’t deal damage. In fact, Lune is one of the best DPS in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. But, it’s better to build Lune as a DPS in the endgame, where more materials and items are available to support her damage.
Lune Mid Game Build In Expedition 33
Lune is an AoE monster when it comes to endgame damage in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. She can still be very useful with her supportive build, especially because of the extra weapons and Luminas that further improve her performance. Not only that, but players can also build Lune with
Typhoon. A Skill that will continuously heal allies while dealing high Ice damage to all enemies.
However, it’s better to build Lune as a hybrid DPS who can both destroy enemies and heal allies.

Lune also has Luminas which allow her to keep casting high AP Skills, such as Energising Start, Energising Turn, Dodger, and Energy Master. Build them on Lune and add allies that further buff her stats and AP, and she’ll fit into any team in Clair Obscur Expedition 33.

Strategy (Lune Mid Game Build)
This Lune build is simple but effective. Whenever players need to erase enemies, just hit
Elemental Trick and follow it up with
Elemental Genesis. Lune gets two turns because of the Cheater Lumina, and that allows the two Skills to work immediately. This plan only works if Lune has max Critical Chance, which makes having
Critical Burn and
Critical Vulnerability crucial. She needs the high Critical Chance because
Elemental Trick generates the four Stains
Elemental Genesis needs if Lune Crit on every hit.
Clair Obscure - Expedition 33: How to Beat Lampmaster
The Lampmaster is an intimidating boss in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and here is how you can beat it.
Other than her AoE strong attacks, Lune can have some Skills that add utility to the team, such as Wildfire,
Crippling Tsunami, and
Revitalization. Wildfire is an AoE upgraded version of
Immolation, and it applies Burn on enemies. As for
Crippling Tsunami, it’s an AoE attack that applies Slow.
Lune Best Build In Expedition 33
Lune excels in the endgame because of the variety of utility and damage she can offer. One of her best builds in E33 is in Burn teams, where she can apply a lot of Burn DoTs and consume them to deal more damage.

Strategy (Lune Best Build)
Lune has several weapons that enhance her Burn mechanics in Expedition 33, but Bonbim is the best among them. It increases her Critical Rate, making it easier to consistently apply Burn with each attack. Players can further support this by equipping Luminas that improve Burn application, allowing Lune and her team to stack a high number of Burn DoTs on enemies. While there are many ways to build these kinds of teams in Expedition 33, this setup positions Lune as the main DPS, as she continuously consumes Burn stacks to boost her damage.
This Lune build revolves around generating and consuming Burn DoTs to enhance her Lightning attacks, such as
Thunderfall and
Storm Caller. The star of her kit is the
Lightning Dance skill, which can deal massive damage if the target has enough Burn stacks, and Lune has the Stains requirements. Lune can also apply Burn through fire skills like
Hell and Wildfire, then save those stacks until her next Lightning ability to maximize damage.
