In a recent video chat with mistermv (via mp1st), Sandfall Interactive CEO Guillaume Broche was asked about the possibility of a Nintendo Switch 2 port, and the executive responded that the company would be interested in the project. According to Broche, the success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 “changes everything” regarding future plans, as there are a lot of opportunities appearing. So, while there’s no actual confirmation of a Switch 2 port for Clair Obscur, it’s entirely possible that the project could be made eventually.

Sandfall CEO Guillaume Broche Thinks Switch 2 Port Could be 'Interesting'

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was a huge commercial hit, selling over two million units in 12 days. While some degree of success was already expected, the numbers surprised even the game’s developers, especially when taking into account the RPG’s day one release on Xbox Game Pass.

Curiously, a new interview has revealed that Clair Obscur was almost an entirely different game. According to the narrative lead, Jennifer Svedberg-Yen, the RPG was originally conceptualized as “set in a steampunk Victorian England with zombies, aliens, and various things," which could have been a huge departure from the product that gamers played and loved.

At the moment, Sandfall Interactive is focusing on polishing Clair Obscur. Last week, for example, the developer released a new major update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The patch corrected several glitches that still plagued the title and made some adjustments to gameplay. One of the most controversial changes was nerfing Maelle’s Stendhal ability, which was considered overpowered by the devs. As development continues, it’s likely that gamers will see more updates soon.
