New evolution cards have always been an exciting part of Clash Royale. This time around, players are getting treated with not one but two massive Evos. Both Pekka and Mega Knight are getting the evolution treatment, and you can try out the Pekka Evo right now by playing the Pekka Evo Launch Event.
In this event, the first slot on your deck is locked for the Evo Pekka. So you’re left with 7 card slots to set up a deck and face off against your opponents. Wondering how to secure the most wins in the event? We’ve compiled some of the best decks you’ll want to try.
All Super Cards in Clash Royale
With the Super Mega Draft event underway in Clash Royale, we take a look at all the super cards that are currently available for you to try out.
Pekka Evolution Card Overview
Before we get to the decks, let’s take a look at the new Pekka Evolution that players will use in the event. Like all other card evolutions, you must unlock this card using Evolution Shards. The base stats of the card are the same as those of the normal Pekka. But what makes this evolution amazing is its unique effect.
Evo Pekka has a healing blade that restores 12.5% of its HP anytime he gets the killing blow on an enemy unit or tower. If Evo Pekka is at maximum health, the healing further increases his total hit points. By getting kills, Evo Pekka can even exceed the total hit points of the Golem, making this an extremely powerful card to have in your Clash Royale deck.

Here are some of the best decks for the Pekka Evo Launch Event in Clash Royale:

- Pekka Poison Bridge Spam

Pekka Battle Ram Bridge Spam
The recent changes to Clash Royale have all been in favor of the Pekka Battle Ram Bridge Spam. The addition of the Evo Wizard and Void has already made players want to pick up and try out this deck. And for the Pekka Evo Launch event, where using the Evo Pekka is a must, this is one of the strongest decks you can use.
Here are the cards you’ll need for this deck:
|
Card Name |
Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
|
Evo Pekka |
7 |
|
Evo Wizard |
5 |
|
Electro Spirit |
1 |
|
Void |
3 |
|
Arrows |
3 |
|
Royal Ghost |
3 |
|
Bandit |
3 |
|
Battle Ram |
4 |
This deck has an average elixir cost of 3.6, which is pretty low for a Pekka deck. You’ve got plenty of spammy cards in the deck that you can place at the bridge to keep up the lane pressure. On top of that, you’ve also got enough splash damage between the Evo Wizard, Royal Ghost, and Arrows.
With the Battle Ram, you’ll be able to pressure the enemy towers from minute one. Put the Royal Ghost in front of the Battle Ram to push it forward and take out any swarm cards your opponent places in front to defend it. And if your opponent decides to bring in a beatdown win condition like Giant or Golem, your Evo Pekka will shred it to bits before it gets a hit.
This deck uses the Cannoneer as the Tower Troop.
Pekka Lumberloon Freeze
Lumberjack doesn’t really go well with most decks in the current meta, but when you pair it with a Balloon, it becomes extremely tough to play against. Now that Evo Pekka has arrived, players have come up with a new variation of the infamous Lumberjack-Balloon combo that’s pretty much unstoppable. Whether it stays relevant on the Trophy Road or Path of Champions is yet to be seen, but it works exceptionally well for the Pekka Evo Launch event.
This deck uses the following cards:
|
Card Name |
Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
|
Evo Pekka |
7 |
|
Evo Zap |
2 |
|
Tornado |
3 |
|
Ice Wizard |
3 |
|
Baby Dragon |
4 |
|
Lumberjack |
4 |
|
Freeze |
4 |
|
Balloon |
5 |
This is basically a more polished version of the classic Lumberloon deck. You’re simply replacing the Bowler with the Evo Pekka. Although you’re sacrificing the Bowler’s splash damage, since Evo Pekka heals from every target it kills, swarm units aren’t as big of a problem for the card as before.
Besides, Ice Wizard, Baby Dragon, and Evo Zap paired with Tornado are all you’ll need in the splash department anyway. This deck excels at creating opposite lane pressure. So, whenever you see your enemy overspending elixirs to defend your Pekka, spam Lumberjack and Balloon at the bridge on the opposite lane to take out their towers before they can react to it. Although the deck has a high average elixir cost, you want to play it like a cycle deck in the game's double and triple elixir stages.
This deck uses the Tower Princess as the Tower Troop.
Pekka Poison Bridge Spam
Going up against a seasoned Pekka Poison Bridge Spam player was a guaranteed loss back in the day. However, in recent years, the deck has lost a lot of its edge with regular nerfs and balance changes. Now that Evo Pekka has arrived, players can look to pick up this deck once more.
Here are the cards needed for the deck:
|
Card Name |
Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
|
Evo Pekka |
7 |
|
Evo Zap |
2 |
|
Royal Ghost |
3 |
|
Bandit |
3 |
|
Magic Archer |
4 |
|
Poison |
4 |
|
Electro Wizard |
4 |
|
Battle Ram |
4 |
It’s a classic bridge spam deck with the Evo Pekka as your main line of defense. Cards like Royal Ghost, Bandit, and Battle Ram are easy to get on the enemy tower when they are down on elixir. You can even put the Magic Archer on Bridge behind the Pekka to line up shots on the enemy Tower to get some nice chip damage.
With Poison, you’ll get a decent direct tower damage to spell cycle if you’re having trouble breaking through. Placing the Electro Wizard behind your Pekka will help you win any trades. And Evo Zap, when you have it in cycle, will decimate any swarm units your opponent deploys to stop your push. Since all your cards, apart from the Evo Pekka, have low elixir costs, you can be as aggressive as you want without getting punished for it.
This deck uses the Cannoneer as the Tower Troop.
How to Win the Pekka Evolution Launch Event
Here are a few tips to help you secure more wins in the Pekka Evolution Launch Event.
- Make sure you cycle your Pekka regularly to get to your Evo Pekka. It’s a one-cycle evolution, meaning every other Pekka you place will be an Evo. You’ll want to ensure your Evo Pekka is ready to defend against big pushes.
- Evo Pekka heals for every unit it kills, making it a good choice against multiple units. While Skeletons are a massive problem for normal Pekka, Evo Pekka has no issue with the card.
- Evo Pekka can heal over its maximum HP by getting troop kills. The healing also works when Evo Pekka kills enemy towers.
- The healing only kicks in when Evo Pekka gets the last hit. If you want to heal up your Evo Pekka, let her get the killing blow on the enemy troop.
- While Evo Pekka is certainly the star of the event, it’s not a good win condition on its own. It gets distracted too easily. So when making your Clash Royale deck, make sure you add an alternate win condition like Balloon, Battle Ram, or even the Hog Rider.
- Inferno Tower is still the best counter to Evo Pekka. If you’re having too much trouble taking down the opponent’s Evo Pekka, consider replacing a card with the Inferno Tower in your deck.
The new Pekka evolution will undoubtedly add new dynamics to how players use this card in their decks. It’s been a while since Pekka took the spotlight in Clash Royale. Feel free to try out these decks and let us know which deck gave you the best results.
