  • Clash Royale Season 63 kicks off on September 2.

Clash Royale is adding the Mega Knight and P.E.K.K.A. Evolutions, which some players have even received prematurely, only to later lose access to them. The new and improved versions of the Mega Knight and P.E.K.K.A. Are set to launch during the next Clash Royale season.

Clash Royale card Evolutions originally debuted in June 2023, when Supercell allowed players to evolve Barbarians, Royal Giant, Firecracker, and Skeletons. As of September 2024, the developer has introduced 21 such special card variants in total.

Clash Royale Mega Knight, P.E.K.K.A. Evolutions Released Prematurely

Two more Clash Royale cards will get their Evolutions shortly, with Supercell planning to release them for the P.E.K.K.A. And Mega Knight. The latter is hence set to become the game's first-ever Legendary card to receive an Evolution variant. Both of the upcoming Evolutions have already been released to some players prematurely, although Supercell quickly pulled them from the game in late August 2024. RoyaleAPI reports that the P.E.K.K.A. Evolution will be launched before the Mega Knight one, noting that both are set to arrive in September 2024.

Mega Knight and P.E.K.K.A. Evolutions Coming in Clash Royale Season 63

The Best War Games was able to corroborate this information by contacting Supercell's customer support. A company representative said that the P.E.K.K.A. And Mega Knight Evolutions were accidentally released as part of the latest maintenance update that rolled out on August 30. For a short while afterward, players were able to spend Clash Royale Evolution Shards to unlock them until Supercell pulled them from the game. While people who did so no longer have access to either Evolution as of September 1, they should soon have the Shards that they had spent returned to their accounts, assuming that hasn't happened already, a company official told The Best War Games.

There is still no word on when exactly the P.E.K.K.A. And Mega Knight Evolutions are set to debut in the game, beyond Supercell saying that both will arrive during Season 63. The upcoming season is scheduled to kick off on Monday, September 2, six days ahead of the seventh anniversary of the Mega Knight's release.

New Clash Royale Card Evolution Abilities

  • Healing Blade (P.E.K.K.A.): heals 12.5% after each kill, can overheal by up to an extra 50% HP.
  • Mega Uppercut (Mega Knight): punches a target, pushing it back four tiles, just enough to trigger his jump attack (if not distracted by nearby enemies).

Since the Mega Knight and P.E.K.K.A. Are high-cost cards, Supercell opted to keep their Evolution cycles to a minimum, meaning that their every other deployment will be evolved. The Mega Knight's Evolution Ability will be called Mega Uppercut, allowing the unit to push back a target by up to four tiles, which is just enough to trigger its jump attack. Meanwhile, the P.E.K.K.A.'s Evolution Ability, Healing Blade, will heal the unit 12.5% for each kill, even allowing it to overheal by up to 50%. Both of these Evolutions hence appear to have the potential to serve as the largest source of damage in some incredibly strong Clash Royale decks.
