Players who want to see Cloverpit's end credits have two options available to them: they can earn the game's "bad" ending or its 999 true ending. While it is certainly possible to enjoy the game without ever reaching either of those endings, some players will undoubtedly be interested in seeing both of them. This guide is written with those players in mind, and it explains how to beat Cloverpit and earn its two endings.

The intention of this guide is not to detail strategies that can be used to maximize scores and consistently complete deadlines in Cloverpit. Instead, it focuses on the specific actions that must be taken during a run if a player wants to reach the bad or 999 ending.

Updated on December 30, 2025, by William Parks: A better understanding of how to consistently trigger the 999 ending has been achieved since the initial publication of this guide. This update incorporates the new knowledge, and it should make it even easier for players to reach Cloverpit's true ending.

How to Beat Cloverpit

Unlock the 4 Drawers

cloverpit how to beat

The first step toward beating Cloverpit is unlocking the four drawers beneath the store. Those drawers are unlocked with gold keys that appear in the box to the right of the ATM, and players can earn one key per run. Notably, the deadline that players must complete to claim a gold key increases every time a drawer is unlocked, and they must achieve a score of 200,000 to earn the last one.

Equip 4 Corpse Pieces & Skull

Once all four drawers are unlocked, players who want to beat Cloverpit must work to equip four Corpse pieces and a Skull. With respect to Corpse pieces, each one increases debt by 5%, and there are two ways to obtain them:

  1. A Corpse piece will appear in a drawer beneath the shop after a round where a 666 is spun.
  2. Any Lucky Charms that are in a drawer at the end of a run will be transformed into Corpse pieces at the start of the next run.

The simplest way to get four Corpse pieces is to start a run, purchase four Lucky Charms, put them into the drawers, and then fail the run. Now start a new run to find that the charms have transformed.

With respect to the Skull, this item can appear in the shop, and it increases debt by 5% and spawns a random free charm in a drawer for every Corpse piece the player has equipped. While it is not mandatory that a player obtain a Skull during the first deadline, it is good to get one early, as the benefit it provides is very useful for overcoming the additional debt that is incurred by equipping Corpse pieces.

How to Get Cloverpit's Bad Ending

With the four Corpse items equipped, and a plan to purchase the Skull from the shop when it appears, players must simply work through deadlines as they have been. This time around, players must complete Deadline #8, scoring more than 250,000 points, to gain access to the black skull key in the box to the right of the ATM. This key can be used to open the door that is across from the ATM, and interacting with the slot machine at the end of the corridor triggers the credits.

How to Get Cloverpit's 999 True Ending

To get Cloverpit's true ending, players must do the following:

  1. Equip four Corpse pieces and the Skull. The way that those items are obtained is detailed above.
  2. Ignore three red text phone calls by selecting "Be Right Back" at the bottom and not returning to the phone during the round. Each ignored red call will cause a mark to appear on the floppy disk that sits on the slot machine.
  3. Receive a fourth red phone call. The phone and the key next to the ATM will turn white when you pick up the call.
  4. Hit score requirements until you can collect the white key, and then use it to open the door across from the ATM.

One major aspect of getting the 999 ending is thus triggering four red phone calls, and here is how that is done:

  1. One red phone call is guaranteed to occur at the beginning of Deadline #3.
  2. Another red phone call is guaranteed to occur at the beginning of Deadline #7.
  3. During other deadlines, do not answer the phone at the beginning. Instead, wait until you spin a 666 during a round. If you answer the phone immediately after that round, the call will be red.

To put this all together, here is an example of a run that would lead to the true ending:

  1. Start the run with four Corpse pieces in the drawers and equip them.
  2. Buy a Skull from the shop as soon as one appears.
  3. At the start of Deadline #3, answer the red phone call, select "Be Right Back," and do not return to the phone during the deadline.
  4. During Deadline #4 (or 5 or 6), do not answer the phone until you spin a 666. As soon as the round with the 666 ends, answer the phone to get a red call, select "Be Right Back," and do not return.
  5. At the start of Deadline #7, answer the red phone call, select "Be Right Back," and do not return.
  6. During Deadline #8, do not answer the phone until you spin a 666. As soon as the round with the 666 ends, answer the phone. It, and the key, will now turn white.
  7. Hit score requirements until you can get the white key and use it to leave the room.

One final thing to mention is that players can increase their chances of spinning a 666 in several ways, which can make it easier to trigger red phone calls during deadlines that are not three and seven. Here are some of those ways, and the first is definitely the most consistent:

  • Select the Heartbreak memory card at the beginning of the run. This guarantees a 666 on the last round of every deadline.
  • Select the Important Choice or Recovery Attempt memory cards at the beginning of the run to double the chances of a 666.
  • Buy Lucky Charms that directly increase the odds of spinning a 666.
  • Focus on spinning as much as possible every round to maximize the chances of a 666. This means always selecting the seven spin option, and the Fake Coin and Cat Food charms, which can increase spins, can also be useful.
