The hype surrounding the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is slowly building, much to the delight of fans waiting to see what Treyarch has in store. Alongside a new single-player campaign and multiplayer offering, Black Ops 6 sees the return of a round-based Zombies mode for the first time since Black Ops 3.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies Includes Nostalgic Feature
Along with the return of some fan-favorite features, Black Ops 6 will also include options that are sure to satisfy longtime Zombies players.
In addition to a familiar selection of Perks and a weapon list packed with variety, the controversial GobbleGums are back. Considering they've not featured in more recent iterations of Call of Duty Zombies, several players preparing to slay endless waves of the undead may not be familiar with how they work. Here, find all the information on Black Ops 6 GobbleGums — including how they work.
What Are GobbleGums In Black Ops 6 Zombies?
In Black Ops 6 Zombies, players can consume pieces of virtual candy that grant a wealth of unique abilities that activate during a match. Before loading into Terminus or Liberty Falls, players can select a combination of five GobbleGums to suit all styles of play.
To obtain a GobbleGum during a match, interact with a GobbleGum machine (they are dotted across the map). Players will receive one of the five selected at random. Once purchased, the GobbleGums are stored away in the inventory where there is space for a maximum of three.
Each GobbleGum is a single-use candy, meaning players will have to pick the right time to activate the ability.
If all three slots are full, there's always the option to activate all of them at once for maximum impact.

Are Black Ops 6 GobbleGums Microtransactions?
Seasoned Call of Duty Zombies players will be pleased to know that Black Ops 6 GobbleGums are not microtransactions. When GobbleGums first arrived, many described them as a pay-to-win mechanic, as players had the option to spend money on them to gain the upper hand. For Black Ops 6, the only way for players to earn GobbleGums is to progress through the rounds.
It seems Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is acknowledging the feedback generated from past releases. If Treyarch continues with this philosophy, there's a chance it could be one of the best Call of Duty titles ever released.
