Black Ops 7 is a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, so it would make sense for some of the best weapons in Black Ops 2's Multiplayer to make a fierce comeback for Treyarch's latest Call of Duty title. On launch, players can expect to unlock 7 Black Ops 2 weapons in Black Ops 7, and these classic weapons have had their names changed, but they're identical in design to their original counterparts. Find out below what Black Ops 2 weapons have returned in Black Ops 7 right here, and how you can unlock them, along with whether they're worth using in your Multiplayer loadout!
How to Get the Tac-45 in Black Ops 7
The Tac-45 is the Jager 45 Pistol
- Unlock Level: Level 1
- Semi-auto pistol. Reliable sidearm with a very fast rate of fire and low recoil.
The Tac-45 becomes the Jager 45 Pistol, which is the first Sidearm that players will have access to, since it's the default at Level 1. There's not much to say about the Jager 45, as you won't want to be running a Sidearm as your Primary. However, the Jager 45 is very good at holding its own, for if you are out of bullets or engaging in close-quarters combat because your primary is ineffective or out of ammo, then the Jager 45 can come in handy with its fast rate of fire (bolstered by your trigger finger), and its low recoil.
How to Get the DSR-50 in Black Ops 7
The DSR-50 is the VS Recon Sniper Rifle
- Unlock Level: Level 3
- Bolt-action sniper rifle. Quick rechamber. Moderate recoil and stability. Hold Shift/L3 while ADS to steady.
The VS Recon used to be the DSR-50, and that was a great Sniper Rifle to use in Black Ops 2 for both Zombies and Multiplayer, which is why it's very fortunate that it becomes the Level 3 unlock, meaning you can try it as soon as Create-a-Class unlocks at Level 4. The VS Recon is extremely effective, as it's a one-shot kill from the torso to the head. This very generous hitbox means that players can quickscope, noscope, or hardscope their way to instant kills of their enemies, with a fairly quick rechamber time from the bolt-action rifle, with a total of 6 bullets in a magazine to ensure there's always a round in the chamber for a passing player. The recoil is easy to control, the weapon is very stable, and the firepower will ensure death to anyone facing the barrel.
How to Get the M8A1 in Black Ops 7
The M8A1 Becomes a Marksman Rifle
- Unlock Level: Level 10
- 4-round burst marksman rifle. Extreme rate of fire within the burst, balanced by moderate burst cooldown.
The M8A1 was a beast in its original form, providing players with a burst-fire Assault Rifle that could shred the competition with just one tap of the trigger. Now, that same threat has returned in the form of a Marksman Rifle. The M8A1 plays identically to its previous version, with a very fast burst fire that fires 4 shots, and can kill enemies in one short burst from the upper chest to the head. The fast rate of fire, lethal damage, and moderate recoil makes it excel at medium-range and long-range fights, so long as you're running the right grips and sights. This Marksman Rifle will also be the first you unlock at Level 10, and it's one you won't want to switch from, as its burst fire makes it tight to control, effective at any distance, and super manageable.
How to Get the KAP 45 in Black Ops 7
The KAP 45 is the Coda 9 Pistol
- Unlock Level: Level 34
- Full-auto pistol. High damage and rate of fire, but high recoil and shorter effective ranges.
The CODA 9 used to be called the KAP 45, and it remains one of the best Pistols to use. This pistol is rapid thanks to its full-auto design, meaning you can hold the trigger and expect to kill anything in front of you. While 20 bullets in a magazine might seem generous, you'll always need more, as the CODA 9 absolutely tears through the magazine. The recoil and range are very ineffective, but switching to this in short-ranged combat will ensure you come out the victor against competing SMGs.
How to Get the PDW 57 in Black Ops 7
The PDW 57 is the Carbon 57 SMG
- Unlock Level: Level 46
- Full-auto Sunmachine gun. Very high ammo count, with respectable range and recoil. Below average damage for its class.
The Carbon 57 was once called the PDW 57, and it was, and still is, a pretty competent choice for an SMG. The Carbon 57 has a very high ammo count for an SMG, with 50 bullets in a magazine. The firepower is decent, and the range is fairly nice too for a weapon of this class. However, the damage isn't as stellar, meaning it's going to take just a few bullets more to wipe out an opponent. That does come with the benefit of decent and controlled recoil, which makes it stand out in certain battles that require more distance than what's directly in front of you.
How to Get the Peacekeeper MK1 in Black Ops 7
The Peacekeeper MK1 Becomes An Assault Rifle
- Unlock Level: Level 52
- Full-auto assault rifle. Exceptional mobility and handling, but high recoil and limited range.
The Peacekeeper MK1 is another returning weapon, but it's place has been altered from a Submachine Gun into an Assault Rifle. Usually, this would be fine, but the Peacekeeper still feels a lot like an SMG. This weapon has great accuracy, mobility, and handling, but only in close-range fights. The Peacekeeper will struggle to keep up with other Assault Rifles at medium-range, but it does excel thanks to its great mobility, which makes it very agile and lightweight to run and gun with. The Peacekeeper Mk1 is super effective in close-range encounters and maps with tight corners, but less so in maps with long-range zones, as the recoil can be very punishing.
How to Get the MSMC in Black Ops 7
The MSMS is the MPC-25 SMG
- Unlock Level: Level 55
- Full-auto submachine gun. Very high damage and excellent mobility and handling. Very high recoil and limited range.
The MPC-25 is the MSMS, and it comes in as the final Level Unlock in Black Ops 7. Is the MPC worth the wait? Yes, it sort of is! The MPC-25 is for players who only like to get close to enemies and engage in close-quarter combat. The range is very limited, and the recoil might be manageable to most, but from a distance, it's a death sentence to the user, not whoever is facing the barrel. However, the MPC-25 makes up for its literal shortcomings by providing you with an SMG that has very high damage for its class, a great fire rate, with amazing mobility and handling to ensure that you are always on the move with an itchy finger to pull the trigger and rack up some kills, so long as those kills are at close range.
