Astra Malorum Easter Egg Walkthrough - CoD BO7

Here's an easy step-by-step guide that will take you through the entire main easter egg quest for Astra Malorum in Black Ops 7 Zombies!

Best Weapons for Astra Malorum

m34 novaline

The M34 Novaline is the best meta weapon for Astra Malorum for a few reasons. This Marksman Rifle already packs a lethal punch, but when you run it through Pack-a-Punch, it becomes a fully automatic combination of a Sniper Rifle and an Assault Rifle. It has the best raw damage numbers, amazing damage range, fire rate, and magazine size to support any player. Here are the attachments you'll want to run to make the most of the M34 Novaline:

Attachment

Why It's Useful

Titan-R 7.62 Compensator (Muzzle)

Improves hipfire spread, slide to fire speed, dive to fire speed, and tactical stance speed. You'll want to run-and-gun while also sliding, so doing these while firing and reducing bullet spread is great.

17" B-1 Hyprid Barrel (Barrel)

Increases damage range and bullet velocity to hit enemies harder and from further away.

EAM Steady-90 Grip (Underbarrel)

Increases horizontal recoil control, sprinting movement speed, and movement speed.

Bowen 762 Extended Mag (Magazine)

Increase the ammo capacity to 30, which is great for aggressive, constant firing without reloading.

Cougar Draw Grip (Rear Grip)

Improves aim down sight speed and jumping aim down sight speed. The boss arena has plenty of opportunities to aim at critical spots and use anti-gravity jumps.

Mil-Spec Light Stock (Stock)

Increases hipfire movement speed, movement speed, and strafing movement speed.

1mW Instinct Laser Array (Laser)

Increases aim down sight speed and sprint to fire speed.

7.62 NATO FMJ (Fire Mods)

Increases penetration power to cut through armored enemies. The boss also has armor.

The Astra Malorum Wonder Weapon, the LGM-1, is also VITAL for the boss fight. You can fire the LGM-1, and it will seek out targets, damaging them continuously and returning to your gun to ensure you never need to buy ammo.

The LGM-1 is great for running and firing, and can actually be used alongside the Stock OptionGobbleGum and Frenzied Guard Field Upgrade with the Frenzy Fire Augment to shoot infinite UFOs that will shred the boss within seconds!

Best GobbleGums for Astra Malorum

astra malorum gobblegums

GobbleGums are not necessary for any easter egg or boss fight, but they certainly do add a unique advantage. If you have the GobbleGums to spare, you should be running these three for the boss fight:

GobbleGum

Description

Power Keg

Spawns a Full Power Power-Up.

Shields Up

Refill armor on use. Armor is twice as strong. (Lasts 3 Minutes)

Stock Option

Ammo is taken from the player's stockpile instead of their weapon's magazine. (Lasts 60 Seconds)

Stock Option is the most essential GobbleGum here, as it will allow you to fire from your stock instead of your magazine. Stock Option can provide infinite ammo for the LGM-1 to shred the boss, but if that's patched, it will also give you unlimited bullets for your primary gun to really cut through the boss.

Power Keg helps to ensure you always have a Field Upgrade ready, which should be reserved for your escape when things are getting too hectic, or for using another Frenzied Guard to get infinite ammo again. Shields Up is also great, as the boss will easily tear through your shields, so having a way to get stronger shields when you're in a pinch will really help.

Essential Perks for Astra Malorum

Really, you can't go wrong with having every Perk before you start the boss fight. However, there are a few that are far more useful than others, and you'll want to grab them along with these Augments to ensure you have a better chance of survival:

Perk

Augments

Why They're Useful

Quick Revive

Dying Wish

Become immune to all damage when you take lethal damage to avoid dying, but you lose Quick Revive.

Jugger-Nog

Iron Core

Durable Plates

Hardened Plates

Your Armor has more durability and has better damage mitigation, and when your armor breaks, you'll have 350 HP instead of 250 HP to ensure you can take more hits.

Stamin-Up

Guns Up

Footwork

Fire while sprinting and increase non-forward sprinting speed to stay constantly mobile and agile.

Mule Kick

Free Throw

Plate Hunter

Chance to keep equipment when used, and allows you to carry 4 Armor Plates, so you're never running empty.

Deadshot Daiquiri

Dead Point

Dead Break

Dead Heat

Provides extra critical hit damage and bonus damage at close range, along with extra damage to armor pieces (which the boss has), and increases movement speed on point-blank kills to keep you on the move.

Double Tap

Double Dealer

Double Time

Every 4th bullet fired deals double damage, and your weapon's fire rate is further increased to ensure you're dealing the best DPS.

Again, all Perks have their use in the boss fight, but these specific ones and their Augments will really help you feel more powerful and keep you alive longer, as you're going to want extra health, extra DPS, and to stay on the move.

Best Field Upgrade (& Augments for Astra Malorum)

astra malorum field upgrade

Augment

Why It's Useful

Frenzy Fire (Major)

Allows you to use ammo from stock so you can infinitely fire your LGM-1 and your primary weapon.

Extension (Minor)

Increase Frenzied Guard duration to keep armor up and to keep firing your gun.

We recommend Frenzied Guard for the Astra Malorum boss fight. Aether Shroud is still a great choice, especially with the Extra Charge and Extension Augments, as the boss and other zombies will ignore you when it's activated. However, the boss does have multiple attacks with area-of-effect splash damage, which can still hurt you. Therefore, we picked Frenzied Guard so your Armor takes the brunt of all damage, and with the Frenzy Fire Augment, you can keep shooting for maximum damage.

Best Ammo Mod for Astra Malorum

shatter blast caltheris

Augment

Why It's Useful

Blast Repair (Major)

Allows you to recover some armor when you destroy enemy armor, which Caltheris has a lot of.

Blast Through (Minor)

Weapons with Shatter Blast deal significant damage to enemies with armor.

Blast Boost (Minor)

Increase the explosion damage of Shatter Blast.

We recommend Shatter Blast as the Ammo Mod for the Astra Malorum boss fight. Shatter Blast gives you around a 30% damage increase to armor pieces with the Blast Through Augment, which works on Caltheris to deal significant damage against her, as she is covered in armor pieces before exposing her critical hit spots underneath the rocky skin.

Tips for the Astra Malorum Boss Fight

Here are some useful tips to help you beat the Astra Malorum boss fight:

  • For the first phase, focus on staying on the move and killing zombies to charge the pillars, and then interact with the brain once they're charged to fire lasers at the boss. This is the only way to deal damage in the first phase.
  • Bring Stim Shots so that you can heal, as the boss can deal lethal damage with the rocks she throws.
  • Stay on the move and weave between pillars and walls so that the boss doesn't hit you with the thrown rocks.
  • Focus on using the LGM-1, as it will swarm the boss and deal decent damage while you stay on the move.
  • Keep moving, and only fire when you're at a safe distance from the boss. When you are firing, focus on one piece of her to destroy her armor and expose her blue critical hit spots, which deal mega damage.
  • Use Frenzied Guard on Caltheris' second phase and spam the LGM-1 to infinitely shoot UFOs that stack damage.
  • Purchase ammo for the LGM-1 and then use the Stock Exchange for the third phase (Caltheris Ascendary)
  • Purchase ammo for the LGM-1 and then use Power Keg, then Frenzied Guard on Caltheris the Needle (fourth phase) to spam fire and kill her fast.
