Black Ops 7 Zombies receives its second major map with the debut of the biggest Season 1 launch in any Black Ops game yet. Enter Astra Malorum, a space-bound observatory where our band of misfit characters seeks to retrieve the souls of both Nikolai and Dr. Elizabeth Grey through the main quest, or simply jump in to survive against endless rounds of the undead.
For those grinding through Astra Malorum’s Main Quest, there are quite a few steps to run through before the map’s challenging boss fight. While some steps, like unlocking the map’s Pack-a-Punch, are definitely easy to complete, other puzzles are much trickier. For those thwarted by deciphering steps, here are the solutions for both the Observatory and Machina Astralis codes.
All Astra Malorum Zombie Intel Locations (Black Ops 7)
Here's a comprehensive list of all Zombie Intel featured in Astra Malorum and how you can get them.
How to Solve the Observatory Dome Code Solution in Astra Malorum
This step for the main Easter Egg can be completed after turning on the Pack-a-Punch, obtaining the LGM 1 Wonder Weapon. To complete it, you will need to follow O.S.C.A.R. Without aggravating him. It is often best to wait until you only have a few zombies left to complete this step.
Be sure to have subtitles enabled, as you will need to listen for the phrase "Targeting Doctor Thurston" and then take note of what follows. Here, O.S.C.A.R. Will play a recording of Doctor Thurston naming three planets, with each planet actually being a part of a three-digit code.
Lining the planets of the solar system in the order they are closest to furthest from the sun allows you to solve the code. This is as follows:
- Mercury: 1
- Venus: 2
- Earth: 3
- Mars: 4
- Jupiter: 5
- Saturn: 6
- Uranus: 7
- Neptune: 8
In our case, the sequence was Neptune, Saturn, and Mercury. Therefore, our code was 861. Once you have the code, head on over to the Observatory Dome and enter the code into a machine within the Pack-a-Punch room. From here, a platform in the room will be lowered down for players to grab the Cryo Chamber Key.
After this, though you could progress onto the Doctor Thurston Brain Step, there is another step you can make progress on within the Observatory Dome.
How to Unlock All Camos in Black Ops 7 & Warzone
Black Ops 7 and Warzone have the largest selection of Camos of any Call of Duty at launch. Here is how to unlock all the Camos and Mastery Camos.
How to Solve the Machina Astralis Code Solution in Astra Malorum
The Machina Astralis Code Solution is a separate step, but since you will already find yourself within the Observatory Dome, it does not hurt to decipher the code you will need beforehand. To begin, use the Observatory Dome telescope and point it at the planet Mars.
Once aligned with Mars, note down the four digits in the coordinates at the bottom left of the screen. These digits will differ every game. In our case, the digits were 4223.
From here, you will need to head to The Museum Infinitum and grab a Rock Saw from the southwest corner of the location. With the saw, head on to the Machina Astralis and into the room just before heading out to Speed Cola. Here, interact with the Cryo Pod to open it, and then interact with the corpse to retrieve Thurston's Brain.
Next, head to The Lumanarium and locate the Perfusion Machine, which will already have a brain inside it, over on the east side of the location. Interact with it to replace the brain, and then interact with it a second time to trigger the Perfusion Machine.
At this point, you will be tasked with defending the Perfusion Machine from incoming waves of zombies, so be sure you have a good weapon to take out any zombies attempting to attack it. If successfully defended for the lockdown duration, the step will be complete. Players will then need to interact with the Perfusion Machine a third time to retrieve the brain. Be prepared, as those carrying the brain will be unable to sprint.
From here, head to the Machina Astralis and descend the stairs. Then, interact with the terminal machine to place the brain inside, and then hold interact a second time to connect the Perfusion Machine. Upon doing so, a code terminal will open up.
Head on up the stairs and locate the terminal on the ground level, found over on the eastern portion of the main room in the location. Here, e nter the digits you noted down earlier into the code terminal. Again, in our case, the digits were 4223, and so that was our code.
From here, you can proceed to the next step, where you will need to take note of the books displayed on the terminal machine to complete a puzzle over at the Archive of Orbis. For a full rundown on how to complete the remaining steps of the Astra Malorum Main Quest, head to this guide here.
