Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023) has been out for a few weeks, and the player base seems to be steady and enjoying the new release of old content. With Modern Warfare 3, players can find many things returning, such as weapons and maps, but with the modern twist of updated game mechanics that keeps Call of Duty fresh as it rolls out almost annually, providing players with a new title to sink their teeth into as they try and grab the highest k/d.
Best Multiplayer Modes In Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Call of Duty always provides players with a fun set of Multiplayer Modes, and here are Modern Warfare 3's best.
With Modern Warfare 3, many might wonder how it compares to Modern Warfare 2. After all, the games are barely a year apart from one another, but, that doesn’t mean the entire experience feels rushed, and there are many things that Modern Warfare 3 does better than Modern Warfare 2, adding to the experience of a Call of Duty title, and yet another game where snipers remain king.
5 Map Voting
Two Random Maps Or Random
A classic feature that returns to Modern Warfare 3 is the concept of map voting. For some, it may invigorate their love for democracy, as all players will be able to choose between 3 options. Will they unify and select something everyone enjoys, or will they be the devil’s advocate and pick something not exactly popular among the Call of Duty community?
Considering Modern Warfare 3 brings back some of the best maps in Call of Duty history for the Modern Warfare franchise, it’s no surprise that the map voting feature would be a grand return, as players new and old can select their favorites to bring forth the battle in familiar territory.
4 Faster Movement
Reload Canceling & Sliding
Movement and mobility play a large part in modern gaming. Players are reasonably obsessed with mobility and fast movement so that they can combine their weapons and complement their playstyle with better ways to move around the map and confuse their enemies. There are many great mechanics, like the increase in strafe speed, the ability to reload cancel, and mantling faster.
Best Shotguns In Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Ranked
Shotguns are highly desired and intensely powerful, but which of them is the best in Modern Warfare 3?
Players have always found ways to enjoy movement, even if some players hate the way others play. Whether it’s drop shooting by going into prone, jumping around, or sliding across the floor, Modern Warfare 3 allows for a more refined set of movements.
3 Health Increase
150 HP Rather Than 100 HP
In most, if not all, Call of Duty games, the health is usually around 100. As for Modern Warfare 3, the health was increased to 150. This base health upgrade allows for a tad extra punch when it comes to staying in the fight. Players will have an extra set of health to help them regain their health, or battle it out to try and remain the victor.
Whilst the slow health regeneration may frustrate players, the added health does help this mechanic to remain balanced. Players can expect gunfights to go on for just a tad longer, as increasing the player's health by just half won’t completely change the game, but it does add some new spice to the way that players will shoot each other.
Zombies Mode
Goodbye Round Based, Hello DMZ
One way that Modern Warfare 3 improves over Modern Warfare 2 is the inclusion of a zombies mode. This is the first Modern Warfare title from the originals to the reboots that has a zombies mode, which places it on a rather historical step for Call of Duty, considering that zombies have been seen as one of the most core aspects of the franchise ever since World at War.
Whilst the new zombies mode in Modern Warfare 3 may not be to everyone’s taste, it certainly has things to enjoy. Players can’t appreciate the standard round-based maps that have been in Call of Duty titles for years. Instead, the zombies mode in Modern Warfare 3 goes the open world, with a set of story missions and objectives.
2 Classic Maps
16 Core Maps Upon Release
Interestingly, despite Modern Warfare 3 (2023) being a reboot of Modern Warfare 3 (2011), all the maps featured are actually from Modern Warfare 2 (2009). Even if these maps are just remakes, the inclusion of classic maps marks a grand return for the franchise and one of the reasons Modern Warfare 3 is better than Modern Warfare 2.
Best Handguns In Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Ranked
The best secondary weapons in Modern Warfare 3 will certainly save players in a tight spot.
The best Modern Warfare 3 maps are returning classics, with slight alterations to graphics and positioning, but they never stray from their original designs. It’s not a surprise that these maps return, considering just how beloved they are among the Call of Duty community, and more will return with every season.
1 Less Confusing Upgrade System
Goodbye Gunsmith
No longer will players be losing their heads as they try and figure out the arsenal and gunsmith mechanics of Modern Warfare 2, as Modern Warfare 3 has done away with it all for something more enjoyable and simple. There’s beauty in simplicity, and Modern Warfare 3 does it well with its upgrade system. Players can easily find ways to unlock weapons, attachments, new perks, and killstreaks.
The joys of an upgrade system have been found within Call of Duty for years, but it’s nice to see Modern Warfare 3 embrace simplicity to make things more fun and accessible for hardcore and casual players alike.
