When it comes to the HRM-9, a number of players use the Thorn-90 as the Barrel, which is a pretty good option, but if players want to really build a good, well-rounded SMG, then the Princeps Long is a better choice. The reason is quite simple: the Princeps Long Barrel drastically improves the bullet velocity, which alleviates one of the biggest cons of using SMGs — the range. The Thorn-90 has a slight effect on the ADS and sprint-to-fire speed, which are good perks to have, but the improvements offered by the Princeps Long are far more pronounced.

When it comes to the muzzle, the classic SMG muzzle ZEHMN35 Compensated Flash Hider is quite useful, shortening radar pings and the overall stability and recoil. It does come at the cost of the range, which is offset by the barrel already, along with a slight hit to the ADS speed. For the stock, the Folding Stock is an extremely popular attachment for the HRM-9 since it plays a pivotal role in improving the recoil and gun kick control, which is quite crucial considering how fast-paced encounters with the HRM-9 can potentially be.

Lastly, we have the 50 Round Drum as the magazine and the 9MM High Grain Rounds ammunition. The former can be the deciding factor in close-range combat, as the high fire rate of the SMGs can quickly deplete the ammo in a short time. The 9MM High Grain Rounds, on the other hand, complements the Princeps Long Barrel as it improves the bullet velocity even further, making the gun more effective in dealing with enemies at a distance.

Coming to the rest of the class setup, players should use items that are well-suited for close-range combats. The Flash Grenade can help players rush enemies and catch them off-guard, while the Semtex can be pivotal in finishing them off. However, the t wo most crucial items by far are the Commando Gloves and Bone Conduction Headset. The former allows players to reload while sprinting which is pretty much a necessity while running and gunning with SMGs, while the Bone Conduction Headset can help in finding enemies much more easily. Apart from that, players can use the Lightweight Boots to improve their mobility even further, while the Munitions Box Field Upgrade provides the necessary ammunition for combat.
