As part of the yearly tradition, Call of Duty: Warzone is slated for a significant update following its integration with Black Ops 6. This integration will take place with Season 1 set to release on November 14, introducing fresh content that will bring the Black Ops experience back to the battle royale – a first since Black Ops Cold War in 2021.

These updates often feel like the launch of an entirely new game due to the significant changes they introduce, including new weapons, maps, and other features. Here’s a look at all the changes coming to CoD Warzone with the release of Black Ops 6 Season 1.

Area 99 is an all-new Resurgence map debuting in CoD Warzone with Black Ops 6 Season 1. This fresh battlefield draws inspiration from the fan-favorite multiplayer map, Nuketown, and will feature 10 distinct Points of Interest for players to discover.

Omnimovement System

In addition to introducing a new map, one of the most significant changes in Warzone is the Omnimovement system, which drastically transforms the gameplay experience and player mobility during both map traversal and combat. This new movement mechanic, also featured in Multiplayer, enables players to sprint, slide, and dive in any direction. It also incorporates a supine prone stance, allowing for a full 360-degree range of motion.

Dedicated Melee Slot and Unlimited Tactical Sprint

Unlimited Tac Sprint returns to Warzone, thanks to the introduction of the Dedicated Melee Slot in Black Ops 6. To activate it, simply equip the knife, and you’ll gain access to Unlimited Tac Sprint while using it. This new feature allows players to keep a knife in their loadout without sacrificing their Secondary Weapon Slot.

Unlimited Tac Sprint was a fan-favorite feature in the original iteration of the battle royale title, but later versions restricted its use. Now, with the integration of BO6, it’s back, and all you need to do is equip the dedicated knife to take full advantage.

Classic Inventory Return and Looting Changes

After incorporating the backpack system in MW2's era, Warzone will revert to its traditional loot system when it integrates with BO6. This classic looting system provides players with a main inventory that, once full, requires them to drop items to manage space.

Here are all the items players can pick up and have stored in their inventory:

  • Cash
  • Gas Mask
  • Armor Plates
  • Killstreak
  • Field Upgrade
  • Primary, Secondary, and Melee Weapons
  • Assault Rifle, SMG, Shotgun, Sniper, and Launcher Ammunition

Armor and Munition Satchels

Satchels are making a return alongside the classic inventory system, offering players the ability to increase the amount of ammo or Armor they can carry. Warzone now features two types of Satchels: Armor Satchel and Munition Satchel. Players will need to choose between them, depending on whether they want to prioritize carrying more armor or additional ammunition.

Wildcards

With the return of Wildcards to Multiplayer, Warzone players will also have access to Wildcards in their loadouts. Though adjusted to suit battle royale mechanics, these Wildcards will provide players with extra advantages in customizing their loadouts.

Pick-3 Perk System

Warzone will introduce a new Pick-3 Perk system, enabling players to select three Perks for their loadout, along with an optional Wildcard. Players will also be able to collect lootable Perks scattered around the map and obtain Pick-3 Perk Packs from fallen enemies.

The Perk system has been revamped to balance and combine less popular or underutilized Perks with others for more strategic gameplay. Additionally, the fan-favorite Specialist Perk Package will be available as a lootable item in the game.

Mastery Camos

For the first time since its official release in 2020, Call of Duty: Warzone will feature its own exclusive Mastery Camo grind, including the Gold Tiger, King's Ransom, Catalyst, and Abyss Camos (see image above). These will be unlocked by completing specific requirements, giving players additional in-game goals to work towards while playing.

Prestige System

Warzone is introducing the Prestige System, a Multiplayer feature making its debut in the battle royale mode, which offers players a level progression system with challenging milestones and exclusive rewards.

Much like in Multiplayer, each new Prestige will reset a player’s level, temporarily locking certain weapons (which can include meta options) and content. To regain access, players will need to level up again or use a Permanent Unlock Token to secure these items. However, weapon levels themselves will remain unaffected by the reset.

Global Weapon Builds

The Global Weapon Builds system is a unified loadout feature across Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies. With this system, any adjustments made to your weapon build or Blueprint – such as attachments, camos, stickers, and charms – will automatically apply across all three modes, improving efficiency and saving players' time when making changes across multiple game modes.

Quality-of-Life Changes and Improvements

As with every major update, Warzone is set to receive a substantial number of quality-of-life changes that will directly impact gameplay and how players approach Battle Royale and Resurgence matches.

Here’s a breakdown of all the QoL improvements developers are implementing with the integration of BO6 and Warzone:

  • Weapon Rarity Outline: Ground loot weapons will now have an outline matching their rarity color for easier identification.
  • Mantling Improvements: Improved speed and fluidity when mantling.
  • Pick Up Self-Revives While Downed: Players who are downed can now pick up Self-Revives from dead enemies or ground loot.
