In many Soulslike games, players encounter choices that can affect the outcome for a certain individual or even change the ending. Code Vein 2 is similar in nature, as players will face an important decision fairly early in the game.

After completing the tutorial section and returning to the present, players must choose between going back to save Noah or proceeding with the story to avoid disruptions in the past. Here is the result of both outcomes and which path you should choose in Code Vein 2.

Should You Go Back To Save Noah in Code Vein 2

After meeting with Valentin and completing his request to investigate both excavation sites and deal with the threat there, players will receive the Forma Storage Tower Key. You can explore the rest of the island first if you want, but you will not miss out on anything if you choose to proceed with the story. Once you are ready, go to the Storage Tower and watch the cutscene where you return to the present, leaving Noah behind.

It is insinuated that Noah will be killed while trying to defend the island, and at this point, you will have the choice to go back. The NPCs and the game mention that going back can affect the timeline. Even if you are unsure about going back at this moment, you can do so at any time before the credits roll.

In the case that you go back for him, you will immediately receive the offensive Formae, Battle Axe: Idris's Conceit. You can then make your way down to the tower, where you will find Noah fighting a powerful enemy. This initiates a boss fight, which will be the hardest one you face, especially early in the game.

Try to parry the boss's delayed attacks if you can, as these provide a significant window to counterattack and deal a large amount of damage.

Upon defeating the boss, you will receive a Blood Code, and when you return to the present, you can find a chest containing the Shield of Stupor. There is also a trophy linked to this boss. Saving Noah adds him as a partner for your exploration in the present. As you otherwise only have Lou as a partner, you can switch to Noah if you feel his kit is better suited to your needs.

Aside from this, after saving Noah, you can find him standing next to the Mistle in MagMell and give him gifts. He also has a request for you, which involves finding engraved weapons in three different regions of the game.
