What to Do At the Cultist Altar in Code Vein 2
The Cultist Altar is to the northeast of Josee's Outpost. When you first reach the location, you can activate the Mistle and then leave, as you will have to complete a request first. After you finish Josee's questline and return to the present, head back to MagMell. Here, you will see a cutscene involving a new bond that takes you to a different time in the past. It is the year 2187, and you can meet with Valentin, who will accompany you as a partner and give you a request.
Visit the location marked on the map, which is southeast of MagMell Island. Head inside Shoreline Cavern, where you will be able to pass through a temporal rift and fight a soulslike boss. Once you are finished there, the request will be completed, and you can return to MagMell to talk to Valentin about the tome. He will mention that there are more of these temporal rifts that you need to close.
One of these rifts is located at the Cultist Altar. Make your way back to the Mistle outside the Cultist Altar and head inside to find the temporal rift. You can go through the fog gate to encounter the Biosis Clod. This boss has a high amount of health and can grab you at times. Try to focus your attacks on the golden tentacles on its back to deal extra damage and stagger the boss.
Some of the boss's attacks are easy to parry, so you can do that to gain more opportunities to deal damage to the boss.
Once you defeat it, you will receive the Book of Lost Tome as well as the Scorched Earth (Formae). You can take the tome back to Valentin, who will provide more information about it. After that, you can visit the other two locations marked on the map to complete Valentin's questline.
