Coffeezilla Issues Response to Logan Paul’s CryptoZoo Defamation Lawsuit

Coffeezilla has issued a response to the defamation lawsuit filed by YouTube star Logan Paul in June. The lawsuit was prompted by a series of critical YouTube videos about Paul’s CryptoZoo project created by Stephen Findeisen, who operates under the online pseudonym Coffeezilla. In these videos, Findeisen raised significant concerns regarding the legitimacy and financial management of the CryptoZoo project.

CryptoZoo was launched by Logan Paul in September 2021 as a groundbreaking crypto-game. It faced significant criticism from Coffeezilla, who claimed the project was quickly abandoned, with key features non-functional and significant investor losses. He also alleged internal conflicts and financial misconduct within the CryptoZoo team. Although Paul initially responded defensively, he later apologized for his hasty reaction. In June 2024, Paul filed a defamation lawsuit against Coffeezilla, accusing him of publishing false statements and omitting information about Paul's efforts to address the project's problems. Paul asserted that Coffeezilla's actions were intended to enhance his profile, despite Logan Paul's attempts to resolve the CryptoZoo issues through a buyback program worth over $1 million.

Over a month later, Coffeezilla responded with a 20-minute YouTube video titled "Logan Paul Sued Me." In the video, Coffeezilla addresses Logan Paul's lawsuit with a detailed critique, asserting that the lawsuit is a strategic move to "silence" him rather than address legitimate grievances. According to Coffeezilla, Logan's lawsuit is not focused on the original investigation but rather on two specific videos and one tweet where Coffeezilla advocated for complete refunds for CryptoZoo investors. Coffeezilla argues that Logan Paul has only refunded a small portion of the CryptoZoo losses, specifically the NFTs, while continuing to contest the remaining claims in court.

Coffeezilla Accuses Logan Paul of Using Lawsuit to Block Investigations

Additionally, Coffeezilla mentioned that he had reached out to Logan Paul just before the CryptoZoo defamation lawsuit was filed to ask about a new investigation into Liquid Marketplace, a company co-owned by Logan that has recently been accused of "multi-layered fraud" by the Canadian government. Coffeezilla suggests that the lawsuit’s timing, coming just "hours after" his inquiry, was a strategic move to block further investigation into Logan’s business practices.

Coffeezilla points out that Logan’s legal team is trying to "discredit" him by claiming his narrative is "false and malicious" and that he is motivated by financial gain. Coffeezilla counters that Logan’s private praise of his reporting contradicts these public claims of defamation, suggesting that the lawsuit is more about "suppressing critical scrutiny" than addressing the validity of his reporting. While it remains to be seen how and when this case will be settled, the controversy between Coffeezilla and Logan Paul over CryptoZoo appears to be recurring with this lawsuit.
