Some online resellers are listing PlayStation 5 physical versions of Concord for ridiculously high prices. The live-service hero shooter no longer exists in a playable capacity, but this hasn't stopped a few people from valuing Concord PS5 discs at hundreds of dollars apiece.
One of the most notorious failures in the games industry and possibly the largest loss in PlayStation history, Concord launched in August 2024 as the debut project of Sony first-party team Firewalk Studios. Unfortunately, Concord's live-service hero shooter trappings didn't strike a chord with PS5 and PC gamers, which led to Sony issuing refunds and taking the game offline within two weeks of launch. Not long after, the gaming giant announced that Concord would not be revived and developer Firewalk Studio would be shuttered entirely.
Concord May Have Caused a New God of War Game to Be Canceled
It seems Concord's failure may have led to the cancelation of a new God of War game that was in development.
With no way to play Concord digitally and all of its online features disabled, one of the few remnants of the game's existence are its physical PS5 copies, some of which are now appearing on eBay at staggeringly high prices. While most listings for Concord PS5 discs hover between $15 and $40, a handful of sellers are attempting to cash in on the game's limited availability by listing copies for over $300. Some of the more ludicrous examples even extend up to $500, and the most extreme Concord listing by far costs $2,250.

This is despite the fact that anyone purchasing a Concord copy is effectively buying a non-functional disc that has no tangible value beyond being a somewhat obscure and controversial piece of PlayStation history. Aside from just the game's physical copies, Concord's limited-edition PS5 DualSense controller is also being resold for around $250-320, going as far as $750; undoubtedly several times higher than the $85 it cost at launch. Unlike the game itself, though, the Concord controller is at least fully functional, and it being limited in availability makes the inflated prices somewhat understandable. In fact, some might even find the controller's colorful sci-fi aesthetic rather appealing.
It's incredibly doubtful that any gamer will be picking up Concord PS5 copies for such preposterously high prices, that too when other resellers have them listed for far cheaper. With Concord forever relegated to the grave, it only makes sense to buy a physical copy as a collector's item to commemorate what is likely PlayStation's biggest disaster. Since then, Sony seems to be taking a much more deliberate look at its GaaS strategy, with the company having canceled two upcoming first-party live-service PlayStation games just a few months ago.
