Communication in a cooperative game is essential, especially when it comes to a game like Content Warning. In this title, without proper coordination and communication, it will be quite difficult to play and not nearly as fun, so you should definitely turn on the microphone if you have access to one.
However, not all players can enjoy this feature due to a voice chat issue that sometimes occurs for unknown reasons. If you have had the misfortune of experiencing the voice chat issue, this guide will provide you with some methods that may fix it.

How to Fix Voice Chat Issue in Content Warning
Losing communication with your teammates while in the old world is even more unsettling than playing Content Warning solo because, in this case, you can get lost, and the team will not be able to go up without you.
The voice chat issue is an unpleasant problem that happens quite often. In some cases, the reasons are unknown, while in others, the players may create the issue themselves. So, if you don't want to be silent forever and want to solve this problem as soon as possible, we have found three methods that will help you to do so.
Make Sure You Have The Correct Microphone Selected
Foremost, be sure to check which microphone you are using in the game and whether it is connected. This is important as the error can occur if you have more than one device for inputting sound connected. The most common example of this is if you have Bluetooth headphones connected to your PC. To check which microphone is selected, follow these steps:
- Launch Content Warning.
- In the main menu, find and interact with the Options button.
- When you open the settings, go to the Audio tab.
- Among the listed options, you will need to interact with the first one that says Microphone.
- The microphone you selected will be displayed on the right side. Click on it to see the other available microphones and select the one you want to use.
If there is only one microphone on the list, and it is the one you are using, try the following method.

Make Sure You Have The Correct Voice Chat Mode Selected
When you first launch the game, you are given the option to choose a voice chat mode. There are two of them: Voice Detection and Push to Talk. So, if everything is fine with the microphone, but other players still cannot hear you in the game, then you may have chosen Push to Talk mode. In this case, for your teammates to hear you, you will need to press the appropriate button, which is the V key by default.
If this mode doesn't work for you, you can switch it to Voice Detection. Like the previous method, open the Audio settings, but this time, interact with the Voice Chat Mode option to see the available variants. In the case of Voice Detection, you don't need to press any buttons, as your microphone will always be on. If this mode is selected, your teammates will hear you as soon as you say something.
Reinstall The Game
If none of the above methods worked, the error may have occurred due to system inconsistencies. In this case, the best solution is to simply reinstall the game. Just uninstall Content Warning from your PC and install it again. If this does not help you, try writing to the official Content Warning Discord. Here, users and developers may be able to help you.
