Cookie Run Kingdom: Super Mayhem Guide & Best Teams

Cookie Run Kingdom's seventh season of Super Mayhem is an essential part of the Song of the Night Sea 5.8 update, giving players an opportunity to earn a wealth of items and crystals. The first season of Super Mayhem was released in 2021, titled Dragon's Valley, and hit Cookie Run Kingdom in 2021. Since then, Cookie Run Kingdom has brought back the seasonal mode two times each year, with the August release being the first edition of 2024.

Super Mayhem mode not only tests the player's ability to craft multiple teams suitable for battle, it also makes life very difficult for those who haven't invested time in dozens of cookies on their roster. Super Mayhem mode uses the best cookies available in Cookie Run Kingdom, but comes with its own limitations. Players may not use the same cookie on more than one team, and more so, the same three treasures are also limited to one use per team.

From August 14 to September 4, players can indulge in the Super Mayhem mode and compete for top honors against the hundreds of thousands of players around the world. The Super Mayhem mode can be found as the fourth option after clicking Play in the game menu, where they will then be transported to the competitive mode. From here, players will be assigned the task of creating three unique teams that are built to destroy and survive the treacherous battles.

The strategy will come down to which cookies have been built the strongest, and which ones mesh well with others. Some players prefer to build three well-rounded teams that pack offense and defense, but master neither of the two styles. Others prefer to focus on one aspect per team, with one built to blast away opposition and another to tank the enemy's strongest units. There is no right or wrong way to play Super Mayhem, and players are encouraged to test out different strategies.

Once three teams are prepared and the treasures have been attached to each team, it's time to head into battle. Much like Kingdom Arena, players can pick one of three teams to challenge, and the power level of each of their teams is made visible. This will allow players to decide which ones to target with the possibility of defeating them. Once all three players have been challenged, the list will refresh with three new opponents ready to go. Wins and losses are tallied, and players can jump up the rankings with multiple successful attempts.

Cookie Run Kingdom Super Mayhem Moon Aspects

While the Cookie Run Kingdom roster is rich with many available units to choose from, Super Mayhem comes with some limitations that could knock out quite a few cookies from contention. All cookies that wish to be used in Super Mayhem must have a minimum level and skill level of 60, which requires players to spend a reasonable amount of resources to achieve this with 15 cookies. Teams are also limited to three Legendary, Ancient, or Dragon cookies, and one Beast cookie, so choose wisely.

When building teams, Super Mayhem also has a seasonal mechanic known as Moon Aspects. Moon Aspects apply special effects during the length of a battle to certain cookies. Players can determine which cookies receive these increases by visiting the Aspects tab in the Edit menu when selecting cookies for each team. The list of different Aspects and what they offer each team are as follows:

Moon's Embrace: All cookies take 50% less damage, while cookies buffed by a Moon Aspect receive an additional 50% to their max HP and 30% reduction to Sleep. While using the skill, cookies also receive a 30% DMG Resist bypass during each use.
Moon's Shadow: When Sea Fairy Cookie, Crimson Coral Cookie, Milky Way Cookie, or Vampire Cookie is a member of the team, an extra 100% of a cookie's attack will be dealt as True Damage.
Moon's Balance: When Moonlight Cookie, Stardust Cookie, Star Coral Cookie, Space Doughnut Cookie, or Blueberry Pie Cookie is a member of the team, apply Sleep duration of 200% effectiveness, while adding Amplify Buff (+10%) and Debuff Resist (+20%) to the select cookies.
Moon's Blessing: When Pitaya Dragon Cookie, Sea Fairy Cookie, Black Pearl Cookie, Moonlight Cookie, Star Coral Cookie, Werewolf Cookie, Cloud Haetae Cookie, or Capsaicin Cookie are a member of the team, they receive an additional ATK +200.0%, HP +350.0%, Size +150.0%, and Weight +100.0%.

Players are also encouraged to use Star Coral Cookie on any of the three teams, due to her special skill receiving a boost, doubling its power with each use. Star Coral Cookie was also a part of the Song of the Night Sea 5.8 update, and is a helpful Epic Support cookie.

An ideal team for Super Mayhem mode will consist of having the ability to defend and heal the party, while the remaining units cause havoc with hard-hitting skills. For this reason, it's recommended that players should have at least one Defense cookie and one Healer cookie on each team, surrounded by three other cookies that are of the Magic, Ambush, Bomber, or Charge variety. This will give plenty of firepower up front while protecting the entire team and ensuring their safety throughout the battle.

Since Cookie Run Kingdom has access to several excellent options in all categories, players shouldn't have any issue constructing three quality teams with a combined power between 1.5 million to 3 million, depending on their promotion rank and topping build. In case one of the three teams feels inadequate compared to the two others, it's worth putting in some time to elevate their power level and attach high-rarity Beascuits to draw out more stat increases to desired areas. Team Attack & Speed: Kouign-Amann Cookie, Madeleine Cookie, Werewolf Cookie, Vampire Cookie, and BTS Cookie (Hollyberian Royal Necklace, Disciple's Magic Scroll, Librarian's Enchanted Robes)
Team Pitaya Standard: Pitaya Cookie, Hollyberry Cookie, Stardust Cookie, Pure Vanilla Cookie, and Snapdragon Cookie (Sugar Swan's Shining Feather, The Order's Sacred Fork, Sleepyhead's Jelly Watch)

Players aren't just aiming for top spot in the rankings for bragging rights, each level achieved will grant several rewards and crystals, making Super Mayhem worth exploring. Players can earn extra Mayhem Tickets, which are needed to play one round of Super Mayhem, along with Medals of Victory, the mode's currency to buy exclusive items. Like Kingdom Arena, players can also climb the ladder and earn rewards for each new rank. Here is the list of ranks and what items are given upon reaching them.

Super Mayhem comes to an end on September 4, so be sure to raise the right cookies up accordingly for the best chances at securing a high ranking. The competition may be fierce, but the rewards will be well worth the frustration.
