If you stumbled on a Copper Key at the start of your run without obtaining any Copper Chests, you're in luck. Copper Keys can be used to open Copper Chests, which will in turn contain goodies that the player can use in their run. The items obtained from a Copper Chest aren't the most exciting, but they're useful nonetheless.
Most of the time, players will get one guaranteed piece of equipment, ranging from a musket or simple staff to Witch Doctor Jeans or a Hand Drill, and four to five pieces of random loot, which can also contain equipment. How To Get Copper Keys In Core Keeper
There are two ways to get Copper Keys in Core Keeper. You can either craft it yourself, or you can obtain it as a drop from enemies or other chests. Crafting it requires a lot of resources, making the player delve into the Iron Age. However, Copper Keys are very rare items that have a very low drop rate, making it hard to farm for them in the wilderness.
It has a very small chance to drop from large wooden crates, orange slimes, red slimes, and small slime vessels. If you don't want to spend hours looking around the map for the appropriate enemies to kill or crates to break open, you'll need to craft the Copper Key the right way. To craft it, you'll need to follow these steps:
- Firstly, make a basic workbench using x8 Wood. From the Basic Workbench, craft a furnace using x20 Dirt Blocks where you can smelt ores.
- Now, use x8 Wood and x6 Copper Bar to make a Copper Workbench. Using this work station, make an Electronics Table, which takes x8 wood and x8 Copper Bar.
- On the Electronics Workbench, make a table saw for x8 Wood, x5 Copper Bar, and x5 Iron Bar. Then, use x10 Copper Bar to make an Electricity Generator, and x1 Copper Bar to make x3 Electrical Wire.
- Connect the Table Saw to the generator using wire, and use x10 Wood to make x10 Planks.
- Now, go back to the Copper Workbench and use it to make a Tin Workbench, costing x10 Wood, x6 Copper Bar, and x10 Tin Bar.
- Use x10 Wood, x10 Tin Bar, and x15 Iron Bar to make the Iron Workbench. Finally, use the Iron Workbench to make the Key Casting Table, which costs x10 Planks and x8 Iron Bars.
- You can use x5 Copper Bar to make a Copper Key on the Key Casting Table.
Once you have the Copper Key, you can use it to open the Locked Copper Chest. All things considered, the loot you can get from the Locked Copper Chest isn't worth it. But, loot is loot, and you are going to progress to the iron workbench at some point anyway.
