Counter-Strike 2 is the updated version of the OG battle game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive that we all grew up playing. Both versions share the same weapons, gameplay, and maps, and with the massive update, the game is now bigger and better. And the best part? The upgrade from CS-GO to CS-2 is completely free.
Like its predecessor, Counter-Strike 2 is a multiplayer game played in the first-person POV. To help players improve their skills, the game features bots that you can practice with. If you're looking to adjust the difficulty of these bots in CS2, the game provides options for that too. This feature allows players to improve their skills before diving into intense battles. However, the process can be somewhat tricky. If you don’t know how to change bot difficulty in CS2, here is how you can do it.
Counter Strike 2: How to Get Skins & Cosmetics
In Counter-Strike 2, there are two ways to unlock skins and cosmetics – by earning a weekly reward, or by spending real money.
How to Change Bot Difficulty in Counter-Strike 2
Previously, in CS-GO, players could adjust the bot difficulty right from the main menu. However, it looks like with the Counter-Strike 2 update, the developers have removed the option from the main menu, making things a bit inconvenient. Here is how you can change bot difficulty in Counter-Strike 2.
To change bot difficulty, you will have to launch CS-2, and then select “Play.” Then, click on "Practice," which will prompt you to choose a map. After selecting the map, open the console. Now, type "bot_difficulty" followed by a number from 0 to 5, indicating the difficulty level.
You can choose any number from 0 to 5 depending on the difficulty level you want. Here’s what each command will do:
- bot_difficulty 0: Bots do not engage in combat at all
- bot_difficulty 1: Quite easy to defeat bots at this level
- bot_difficulty 2: Slightly more difficult than 1 but still not too challenging
- bot_difficulty 3: Bots begin putting up a fight and can be a bit challenging
- bot_difficulty 4: Bots can be intimidating at this level
- Bot_difficulty 5: Bots can be extremely tough even for skilled players.
The option to adjust bot difficulty is a handy feature, as it caters to players of all skill levels. The easier levels are good for beginners who are just getting started and want to practice before jumping into real matches. The intermediate level offers a balanced challenge for players looking to improve their skills while enjoying a good fight. The higher difficulty levels can prove to be challenging for even expert players, but they are an ideal way to prepare for the real battles in the game.
