The developer Pocketpair has supplied a gift to Craftopia fans by deploying a brand-new 2025 Spring Update full of new content and improvements. Craftopia is a vista of exploration that combines several enjoyable tasks, including farming and building, with hack-and-slash action, and there’s also plenty to loot in nearby dungeons, magic spells to use akin to a fantasy RPG, and mining to perform around the open world, similar to Minecraft.

The developer was under fire for its 2024 Palworld release because of the game’s similarity to Nintendo’s mammoth Pokemon IP. Pocketpair then fell under the Japanese publisher’s watchful eye for the remainder of last year after the monster-training game was released, and Nintendo recently obtained a new anti-Palworld creature-capture patent, with plans to seek one more patent in addition.

Announced within a blog post on Steam, Pocketpair listed the new features and changes coming to Craftopia within the 2025 Spring Update patch notes. Some important takeaways include new items including the “Massacre Drone” and a “Killpower Switch,” and balance adjustments affecting the basic attacks of the spear and fall damage while riding on hovering vehicles. Craftopia has several skills to become acquainted with, and the spring update added some changes to these features, including a tweak to Evil Dragon’s Erosion that altered the amount of damage, and Lightning Bolt will now land within a narrow area while the concentration buff is active. Furthermore, a boatload of bug fixes and performance improvements were implemented, as well as functional improvements, such as a change to the icon display order and the addition of named map markers.

Pocketpair Releases Craftopia's 2025 Spring Update

Craftopia’s aesthetic was reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in some gamers' eyes, but players still opted into the title’s charming gameplay and applauded the new features added in the recent update. One fan quoted Frankenstein, saying, “It’s alive,” but most were very appreciative to receive such a substantial update. Others asked when optimization would be added, and another comment requested a possible improvement to the shaky camera in the next update.

The crafting multiplayer can certainly be considered one of the coziest games on the market, alongside Stardew Valley or the recently released Tiny Glade. There are plenty of beginner tips for new Craftopia players, including how to teleport to islands, invest in survival skills, and avoid those pesky bears, and thanks to Pocketpair’s new update, the game is alive and kicking for newcomers and veterans in 2025.
