This article contains spoilers from Solo Leveling.

Anime fans have received one major hit after another in 2025 and the lineup for Summer 2025 has proven to be extremely exciting as well. The year started with Solo Leveling, which released its second season, and in doing so, also gave the fans an incredible follow-up after the amazing first season last year. Needless to say, if Solo Leveling Season 1 won anime of the year, Season 2, which is leagues above in quality, is definitely going to be in contention.

That said, Solo Leveling has quite a lot of competition this year, and that's because every season has been absolutely stacked so far. Right now, Crunchyroll has a new hit anime that's completely taken over the fans, and many would say is an absolute 10/10 and that's Dandadan Season 2. It goes without saying that Dandadan, with its two phenomenal seasons, will give Solo Leveling a run for its money.

Fans have enjoyed what it delivered thoroughly so far, with the anime taking things up a notch and improving upon what it delivered last year consistently. Manga fans were waiting for the Evil Eye adaptation for quite some time, and it goes without saying that this story is only going to get better from here on out.

In fact, Dandadan is so popular on Crunchyroll right now that it has officially taken the title of the most popular anime, beating even One Piece in the process. Meanwhile, Jujutsu Kaisen isn't even within sight, but that's to be expected. After all, Solo Leveling Season 2 wrapped up months ago and it won't be as popular right now. Still, the level of domination that Dandadan Season 2 is showing, especially when competing with strong anime titles such as Gachiakuta, among others, deserves quite some praise. The way it is going, Dandadan Season 2 will set a new high before the Fall season of anime begins, and then fans have a new batch of exciting anime to look forward to, such as My Hero Academia Final Season, among others.

Why Dandadan Could Be 2025's Best Anime

The Story Keeps Getting Better With Each Passing Episode

As mentioned earlier, Dandadan Season 2 is drawing in fans week in week out. The anime has been absolutely stunning so far, and has absolutely not missed a single beat. Be it art, animation, or direction, the adaptation has been spot on, and when it comes to the story, fans know very well that it is one of Dandadan’s strongest points.

Whereas Solo Leveling genuinely struggles when it comes to putting together a captivating story, Dandadan shines incredibly hard, and that's what fans love the most about it. Unfortunately, the Dandadan series doesn't have as flashy battles as Solo Leveling, which is one of the reasons why it isn't as popular among the newer generation of fans at the moment, but with time, that will sort itself out. No matter what, Solo Leveling Season 2 has pretty solid competition, and Dandadan might just take the throne as 2025’s best anime.

Dandadan Season 2 is currently running on Crunchyroll. Solo Leveling Season 2 has officially wrapped up already, and all episodes can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
