- International release dates for the movie, including the US and Canada, will be in September 2025.
Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini recently made an important comment regarding the production of the final arc of the Demon Slayer anime. Demon Slayer will soon drop the first movie of the Infinity Castle trilogy, and it will definitely be a massive release — and a new trailer will be out in a few days.
The first movie will probably cover a good portion of the Infinity Castle arc, which is the penultimate arc of the manga and shows the Demon Slayer Corps invading Muzan's lair to end the fight against demons and finally cure Nezuko.
May 9 Is Going To Be A Big Day For Demon Slayer Fans
Demon Slayer fans will be treated to a major update on the Infinity Castle film.
Crunchyroll President Hinter At The Next Movies
While the release date for the first movie has already been announced, Purini addressed the following films in an interview with Deadline (the news was written by Stewart Clark). This may not seem like much at first, but it suggests that there are many teams working on the movie right now, and also indicates that Crunchyroll is following the production closely. Furthermore, it might indicate that they already have an idea of when the next movies will be released, while the production teams have not yet publicly announced it (and they probably will not announce it, at least before the first movie is released).
The trilogy movies are the final arc of the story and, for fans, if they want to finish it, they have to watch it. (...) The production teams have not announced the exact release date.
His quote also confirms that the trilogy will cover the entire final arc of the story. Since the Infinity Castle arc is followed by the Sunrise Countdown arc, it wasn't clear if the movies would be the final chapter, or if they would just set the stage for a final season to be released at a later date. Additionally, Deadline states that industry circles expect a "fairly evenly spaced" release schedule — which could be in line with rumors that they will release a movie every two years (in 2025, 2027 and 2029).
When Will Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Movie 1 Be Released?
The first movie in the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy, officially titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle, will be released in Japan on July 18, 2025. However, it will be a few months before the movie is released internationally, so fans who want to avoid spoilers should be careful, or they might stumble upon a post from the Japanese media or the Japanese audience with spoilers or some other kind of unwanted information.
The movie will be released in the US and Canada on September 12, 2025, distributed by Sony Pictures and Crunchyroll, and it will probably be screened with dubbed and subbed options, just like the previous movies. However, there could be sudden changes to the schedule, so fans should keep an eye out for updates from Crunchyroll. In other countries, the movie will be released on a different date. In most countries where Crunchyroll is involved with the release, it will be out after the US release, but in Latin American countries it may be released at the same time or even a few days before the US release.
