Cyberpunk 2077's patch 2.3 focuses on vehicle customization and other gameplay features related to vehicles, including autodrive and a taxi-hailing service. The update makes traversing Night City easier, especially for those who want to take in the sights while still traveling directly to their quest destination. Vehicles are a prominent feature in Cyberpunk 2077, and patch 2.3 has made them more relevant than ever before.

Some players were disappointed that Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.3 focused primarily on vehicles, as there were other features they expected to be added. Not all players are invested in vehicles, and a more universal feature may have been more appropriate. However, the changes to vehicles have proven to give a boost to a certain build, especially for new and inexperienced players who want to specialize in netrunning.

Cyberpunk 2077: 16 Essential Perks Every Build Needs

As V levels up in Cyberpunk 2077, they will face threats both physical and cyber. Counter it all with a build that includes these essential perks.

One way to make the most of the new vehicle additions is to create a build with Perks that use them to their potential. Netrunner is one of the most popular ways to play Cyberpunk 2077, but a more generalized build that uses vehicles is a great way to use the environment in creative ways.

Cyberpunk 2077 includes two Perks that are available at the earliest levels that enhance vehicle gameplay and are essential for a netrunner build. Fury Road and Car Hacker are both intrinsically linked to vehicles, and are both available from Level 1, with only four points needed in each level.

Fury Road can be found in the Body tree, and alters the nature of vehicle collisions, with the effect of increasing damage to enemy vehicles and their occupants by 50%, while V's vehicle damage is reduced by 50%. It also eliminates all damage V takes as a passenger during collisions.

Carhacker is another Perk that's unlocked at Level 1, and is found in the Intelligence tree. It unlocks vehicle quickhacks, allowing V to manipulate vehicles around them. Both these Perks are found at the very beginning of each tree, and can be unlocked very soon after a playthrough has begun.

Carhacker unlocks the following quickhacks:

  • Self-destruct
  • Floor It
  • Emergency Brake
  • Take Control

As vehicles often populate combat zones and hostile areas, Carhacker is an incredibly useful Perk for beginner netrunners. This Perk upgrades with more options as V upgrades their cyberdeck. The Self-destruct quickhack is great for dealing damage across a large area while in combat, while the other options offer effective distractions.

Investing in a Netrunner Build

The Carhacker and Fury Road Perks form a solid foundation for a generalized netrunner build, offering more ways to use vehicles. Netrunner is a popular build because of its power and creative ways to manipulate the battlefield while keeping a distance from enemies if needed.

Specialized netrunner builds are incredibly effective, but can be tricky to play, especially for newcomers. A more generalized build that also invests in Body and Technical skills and perks makes V cyber-savvy, but also gives them some survivability and versatility. This build is effective across combat scenarios in Cyberpunk 2077, making it accessible for new players but also fun and immersive for veterans, who can take full advantage of the vehicles in Night City's environment.

Cyberpunk 2077's patch 2.3's new vehicles lend credibility to this build, as it gives V more survivability during vehicle combat. With more vehicles in the patch tied to questlines, a generalized netrunner V can take full advantage of the new additions, even if vehicles aren't a feature the player isn't particularly interested in. Each update has breathed new life into Cyberpunk 2077, and creative players can find new ways to integrate the additions into their playstyle, even if the additions aren't obvious on the surface.
