Last month, Cyberpunk 2077 players got a special surprise with the arrival of update 2.3. This fresh update included four new vehicles, an AutoDrive mechanic, and a variety of improvements to the game's photo mode. Cyberpunk 2077 continues to evolve in exciting ways, and after the release of 2.3, many fans are understandably curious about the possibility of a 2.4 update.

It's important to note, though, that developer CD Projekt Red has not confirmed a 2.4 update. However, with the game's devs continuing to bring fresh content, despite past comments that post-launch support would be dying down, another update is definitely not off the table yet. There's no telling what a hypothetical 2.4 update could bring to players, but one viral mod could be the perfect way to bring Cyberpunk 2077's realism to the next level.

Making the Dystopian World of Night City Feel Even More Lifelike

  • This mod is cheekily titled "Eviction Notice."
  • The mod was uploaded to Nexus Mods on August 8.
  • Created by modder Dark Fortune Teller

There's nothing more dystopian than being beholden to a greedy landlord in the middle of an over-packed city where everyone is struggling to make ends meet. Granted, this mod definitely won't be for everyone, as it adds an extra level of stress, but for those in the mood to truly feel like they're living in Night City, Eviction Notice could be a great add-on that elevates immersion.

The mod is described as so: "Eviction Notice is a fully-featured apartment rent system for Cyberpunk 2077. It requires that you periodically pay your rent, or risk late fees and eviction. Along the way, through 450+ new text messages, you'll meet an eclectic cast of real estate agents, chatbots, and landlords." This mod is a clever way to add an extra level of difficulty to the game that makes sense within its world, as each day is a fight for survival in Cyberpunk 2077.

In Eviction Notice, players do not have to pay rent during Act 1 of the Main Quest.

The Perfect Way for Cyberpunk 2077 to Approach a New Game Plus Mode

While Cyberpunk 2077 has a lot of replay value, the game has yet to add an official New Game Plus mode to the experience. Unfortunately, New Game Plus may be a pipe dream. Last year, Lead Quest Designer Pawel Sasko stated in an interview, "It’s incredibly difficult to figure out a way where NG+ could be done in a setting, in a way that doesn’t completely break the way the game is constructed." However, there is still the possibility for Sasko and other quest-focused devs at CDPR to have a change of heart.

If the team ever pivoted and embraced New Game Plus, taking note of Dark Fortune Teller's Eviction Notice mod could be the perfect way to raise the stakes for players. Cyberpunk 2077 still has room to grow, and finally getting New Game Plus would be a great way to patch the RPG one last time before CDPR fully moves on to its sequel.

After update 2.3 dropped, some Cyberpunk 2077 players believe that new in-game ads promoting North Oak Casino & Country Club are teasing a 2.4 update.

Cyberpunk 2077 Could Still Hold Surprises

There are already hopes for more Cyberpunk 2077 updates in the future, and only time will tell if CDPR delivers. The developer is mostly busy working on The Witcher 4 and beginning pre-production on Cyberpunk 2077's sequel, so it would be understandable if 2.3 was one of the last updates. The future is uncertain, but if a few more updates are in the pipeline, the Eviction Notice mod could be a great source of inspiration.
