Cyberpunk 2077 just recently released yet another strong update with patch 2.3, adding a variety of great features to Night City. Between the Auto Drive mechanic, four new vehicles, and an improved photo mode, 2.3 was a pleasant surprise for Cyberpunk 2077 fans who thought CD Projekt Red was easing up on its post-launch content.

However, it appears that CDPR still has plenty of ideas about how to improve Cyberpunk 2077, and that's truly exciting. Cyberpunk 2077 has managed to rise from the ashes of its incredibly controversial 2020 release in an impressive way, and with each new update, there are questions regarding how long developers will continue to expand the game. After 2.3, there are already theories about what a potential 2.4 update may have in store, and one of the most intriguing is the possibility of a Night City casino.

A Casino Would Be a Perfect Fit for Cyberpunk 2077, But There is Another Matter That CD Projekt Red Needs to Address

The Origin Behind Cyberpunk 2077's Casino Rumors

Speculation about a casino area began when some players noticed a specific detail after 2.3's launch. Throughout Night City, new billboards advertising a casino can be seen, leading many to believe that it's a cleverly placed teaser. These casino billboards only showed up after the update, giving more weight to the theories, but of course, this change could also turn out to be nothing. Casinos would be right at home in Cyberpunk 2077, but CDPR is also hopefully considering making in-game choices matter more than they currently do.

Revamping Cyberpunk 2077's Life Paths

Since launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has improved greatly, but the life paths at the beginning of the game still leave a lot to be desired. It doesn't really matter if a player chooses to be a Corpo, Street Kid, or Nomad. Granted, certain choices open life-specific dialogue and the opening sequences are slightly different, but the chosen life path doesn't impact the game in any major way beyond that.

Either extending the impact of life paths or potentially even adding a fourth one could be thrilling, but Cyberpunk 2077 could benefit from having in-game choices hold a greater influence on the story overall. V's dialogue choices and actions can inspire different reactions from NPCs, but many of the outcomes throughout the game remain the same. Cyberpunk 2077 has a variety of endings, but beyond that, many of the decisions in the middle of the story lead to the same place. Of course, this is far easier said than done, as a game as big as Cyberpunk 2077 is filled with quests. Creating a different outcome for every single one could easily turn the game into an overwhelming experience.

Cyberpunk 2077's sequel entered pre-production this year.

Cyberpunk 2077's Rumored Casino Could Open the Door to More Outcomes

If a casino really does come to Cyberpunk 2077, it's likely to be a side activity that doesn't necessarily affect the story, unless it turns out to be part of an unannounced DLC. A casino could easily become a role-playing playground, as it could become a space where one's actions and dialogue choices all have different results.

This could also make the casino a great testing ground for Cyberpunk 2077's in-development sequel. It wouldn't be surprising if CDPR strove to make Cyberpunk 2077's sequel's RPG elements more in-depth, and a brand-new level like a casino may be a clever way to experiment with a new system. This remains to be seen, but if such an area does get added to Night City, it will be fascinating to witness how CDPR goes about crafting a dystopian casino.
