Cyberpunk 2077 continues to receive support from CD Projekt Red. The game is only a few months away from its fourth anniversary, and even after all this time, it has gotten a new update that adds some highly requested features.
Throughout its post-release period, CD Projekt Red has introduced several new features to Cyberpunk 2077, including path tracing, DLSS 3, and more. However, one feature set that was missing was FSR 3 and FSR Frame Generation. Fortunately, a recent patch has addressed this. AMD GPU owners may want to use these features for a performance boost. Here's how you can enable them.

How to Enable FSR3 in Cyberpunk 2077
The game supports both FSR 2 and FSR 3, allowing you to choose whichever suits you best. However, the latter is recommended for most players. To use FSR 3, follow these steps exactly:
- Open the settings menu.
- Go to the Graphics tab (the fourth one from the left).
- Change the Resolution Scaling option to AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3.
- Set the AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 setting to your preferred option. Balanced is recommended if you're playing at a resolution higher than 1080p.
- Adjust the AMD FSR 3 Sharpness to your liking.
That’s it! Now, return to the game, and you should notice a performance improvement. If you don’t want to upscale the game to a lower resolution and only want to use the FSR 3 AA technique, set AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 to Native AA.
The new patch also introduced Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.3 upscaling technology. You can use that instead of FSR or DLSS if you prefer.

How to Enable Frame Generation in Cyberpunk 2077
If the performance boost from FSR 3 isn’t enough for you, you can also enable Frame Generation technology. This setting is located just below the Resolution Scaling option. However, keep in mind that using Frame Generation forces the use of FSR 3 — you can’t use it with any other upscaler.
There are a few things to consider when using Frame Generation:
- The developer recommends using Frame Generation on higher refresh rate monitors (at least 120 Hz). Otherwise, your game might suffer from frame time issues.
- You should only enable Frame Generation if your baseline frame rate is at least 60 FPS; otherwise, you may experience visual artifacts and frame time issues.
-
Frame Generation requires Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling to be enabled on your operating system. Windows 11 has this feature turned on by default, but Windows 10 users will need to enable it manually. Here’s how:
- Press the Windows key and type "Graphics."
- Open the Graphics Settings option.
- Turn on the "Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling" option.
You’ll need to restart your PC after doing this. Lastly, make sure to update your GPU drivers to the latest version.
FSR Frame Generation is only supported by AMD 7000+ series GPUs. Older AMD GPUs or Nvidia GPUs do not support this feature; however, Nvidia has its own Frame Generation technology.
