To access Shards from the Shards menu, follow these steps:

  1. Access the menu.
  2. Locate and hover over Journal.
  3. Select Shards under Journal.
  4. Select from the available Shards broken into categories like Literature, Notes, Articles, Technology, and so on.

Press the View button on an Xbox controller, the Touchpad on a PlayStation controller, and tab on a keyboard for PC to access the menu.

Unfortunately, the only way to access Shards is via the menu, and it cannot be accessed using a hot key either.
