CD Projekt RED has changed so much about Cyberpunk 2077 since its initial release, and every change has promised that no stone has been left unturned to provide players with the definitive Cyberpunk 2077 experience, all thanks to Update 2.0. Players can find a plethora of exciting changes to Update 2.0 that breathe new life into the game, including an increase in the max level in Cyberpunk 2077.
As of Update 2.0, the max level in Cyberpunk 2077 has increased. This means that players can gain more Attribute Points than before, and provide them even more resources to create the best builds in Cyberpunk 2077 thanks to the ability to dump more points into their chosen Attributes and experiment with the newly revamped skill system.
Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 Max Level
Players can reach the max level in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 by reaching level 50. This is the level cap for the game. The original level cap in Cyberpunk 2077 was 50 and has not changed since Update 2.0.
However, if players have purchased the DLC expansion, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, the max level will increase to 60. These 10 additional levels come in handy, as players can continue to grow their Attributes, as they unlock one new Attribute Point to spend in any of the core 5 Attributes after they level up from enough XP, which is easy enough to do as a merc, going through Gigs, Missions, and Side Missions.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty offers 10 additional levels so that players can gain a further 10 Attribute Points, which can truly change the build that the player is going for. This allows for more points in the five core Attributes: Body, Cool, Intelligence, Reflex, and Technical Ability, with 3 of them potentially reaching the maximum level of 20.
There are many benefits from having Attributes at the max level, as some trees like Intelligence will provide players with unique dialogue options and observations, whereas Reflexes can give players abilities during Quick-Time Events. Arguably the best two are Strength and Technical Ability, which allow players to open locked doors with brute force or hacking.
It is not possible to put 20 points into every Attribute, so players should choose wisely in which they invest regarding their choice of build for V. Since Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0, the skills have been entirely revamped, meaning players can reset their Attribute points to the core 15 points they had when building their character. However, an Attribute can be no lower than 3, so players still cannot use this one-time Attribute Reset to get 20 points for every Attribute.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is out now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
