The most intelligent characters in DanMachi can often be very subjective, depending on how the word smart is defined. In terms of strategy, few do it like Finn. In terms of adapting to situations, Loki is a top candidate. When it comes to having the smarts to establish a world and a city as complex as Orario, Ouranos has the ability to do just that.

Intelligence can take many forms in DanMachi. Some characters have shown that whatever the situation, they’ll perform much better than others, not with brawn but with their brains, wit, and cunning personalities.

7 Asfi

A Gifted Magician With A Genius Intellect

Due to the nature of her familia’s god, who’ll leave his responsibilities and abscond to do as he pleases, Asfi had no other choice but to lead the Hermes familia, and she does it beautifully with her intellect. As the head adventurer of the Hermes familia, Asfi is a tactical genius. Like her god, she’s capable of manipulating situations to her advantage and even more capable of gathering information.

To complement her intellect, Asfi is well renowned in matters of magic, particularly when it comes to creating magic weapons. As a former princess who has led the Hermes familia for years, Asfi is a natural-born leader. Still, even she gets frustrated when dealing with Hermes and the trouble Bell gets caught up with.

6 Hedin

The Archetype Of The Intelligent Elf

Anime elves who wear glasses are often considered extremely smart, and Hedin’s character lives up to that expectation. As a former king who led his country into war many times, Hedin has developed an extremely analytical personality, and he’s always thinking several steps ahead. He left his kingdom to become an adventurer at the behest of Freya, as he had grown tired of ruling.

As an executive of the Freya familia, Hedin constantly tries to live up to Freya’s name and deeply respects his goddess. His respect and loyalty border on obsession. However, it makes him shrewd in his ways, to both allies and enemies, doing everything he can to be recognized as the best.

Freya’s skill at manipulation is backed by her heavenly abilities and then raw talent. Her ability, Discerning Eye, allows her to see a person’s mental state and the color of their soul. With this ability, Freya is able to easily understand the innate nature of a person, and manipulating them comes much more easily after that.

Based on the Norse God of Trickery, Loki in DanMachi retains the same smarts that get Thor caught up in many unwanted situations. While Loki doesn’t deal with Thor in DanMachi, her smarts are well portrayed when it comes to making critical observations and acting accordingly.

Unlike many, Loki is highly adaptable and able to process new information. Her ability to think on her feet is exceptional. She doesn’t hold on to what was, or is supposed to be, but only what is, which plays a huge role in how she handles various situations.

With his unique mind, Finn is able to process complex information and use it to his advantage. His abilities of deduction are also top-notch, as he can easily identify an opponent's strengths and weaknesses with limited information. Combining his strength and intelligence, Finn is one adventurer that few would want to have on their bad side.

1 Ouranos

The Architect Of Orario And Keeper Of Hidden Wisdom

Not a lot is known about the God Ouranos, but establishing the many complex systems in Orario and the structure of the Adventurer’s Guild requires a keen mind. As the head of the guild, Ouranos primarily stays in the Room of Prayer, using his divinity to keep monsters from leaving the dungeon.

Despite having done that in seclusion for over a thousand years, Ouranos remains highly flexible and adaptable. He believed, like Bell, that the Xenos could co-exist with adventurers. This deity is a master at keeping a low profile, but all over Orario, nuggets of his wisdom are seen in the city’s very structure and already established systems.
