The Dark Souls franchise has been around for a very long time, and many players agree that the third installment is the best. Dark Souls 3 not only introduced some of the most powerful bosses in the entire franchise, but also gave players the chance to discover new weapons, armor, and spells, which made the experience that much more interesting.
With starting classes like the Mercenary, which comes equipped with the Sellsword Twinblades, there’s no shortage of fun and options to explore. That said, some armor sets from previous games had a very nice look to them and were part of iconic characters’ narratives. Here’s how to get the Armor of the Sun Set in Dark Souls 3.
Dark Souls 3: How to Respec
Respeccing in Dark Souls 3 can be hard to figure out. Here's how to reallocate stats to try different builds throughout the game.
How To Get The Armor Of The Sun Set
When Solaire of Astoria was first introduced in the original Dark Souls, he instantly became a fan favorite, not only because of his colorful armor, but also because of his attitude and signature move “Praise the Sun”. While he doesn't seem to make an appearance in Dark Souls 3, you can still get his armor set and pair it with a powerful weapon like the Farron Greatsword to honor him. Mind you, this won’t be easy, but when you’re wearing the signature attire of such an iconic character, it will be well worth the effort.
To get the Armor of the Sun Set, you’ll first have to acquire the Tower Key from the Shrine Handmaid in the Firelink Shrine. The key won’t come cheap, as she sells it for a whopping 20,000 Souls. Once you’ve obtained it, you’ll gain access to the tower at the top of the Firelink Shrine. Walk up the spiral stairs until you reach an open bridge section. Don’t go all the way over to the door at the other end of the bridge—instead, stop halfway through the bridge, turn left, and look down, you’ll see some steps you can use to drop to the shingles on the ceiling of the Firelink Shrine.
When you’re on the ceiling, you’ll see a big, empty nest and a high-pitched voice will start talking to you; that’s the Pickle Pee, Pump-A-Rum Crow, also known as “Nestling”. She will trade various valuables with you if you drop items in her nest. To get the Armor of the Sun Set, you’ll have to drop:
- A Siegbräu for the Armor of the Sun
- A Homeward Bone for the Iron Bracelets
- A Seed of a Giant Tree for the Iron Leggings
- A Lightning Urn for the Iron Helm
- A Mendicant’s Staff for the Sunlight Shield
Once you’ve exchanged all the items, you’ll be able to wear the mighty Armor of the Sun Set, spreading Solaire’s joy wherever you go.
