Dark Souls 3 like other souls-like titles challenges the player to take on challenging bosses that expect the player to learn their patterns in order to avoid the deadliest of attacks. While some of these enemies can be an identical height to the player character many of the foes players face tend to tower over them making avoiding their attacks incredibly difficult.

Although plenty of these bosses tend to be crouched or on all fours, these are by far the tallest bosses players are likely to face in Dark Souls 3, that are as tall as they are brutal when facing them.

8 Curse-Rotted Greatwood

Curse-Rotted Greatwood from Dark Souls 3

The Curse-Rotted Greatwood is a ginormous tree that has four long limbs. Even though the boss spends the entirety of the battle sitting on the ground exposing the fleshy bulbs or growths on its body for the player to attack.

Although the player can't see the Curse-Rotted Greatwood at its full height due to it never standing, even while it sits on the ground its tree like body towers over the player. It even has the power to match this height as lowering its health enough will cause it to break the ground underneath it allowing both the player and the Curse-Rotted Greatwood to fall into the pit.

7 Lorian, Elder Prince

Both Lorian and his younger brother Lothric are poisoned with the same curse that makes movement in their legs limited. This also means that similar to the Curse-Rotted Greatwood players are unable to see Lorian the Elder Prince at his true height due to always being crouched over.

However, even with this hindrance Lorian can already be seen by players as an incredibly tall man that is taller than a regular sized human while still only being on his knees. It may be argued that players should be thankful that Lorian cannot move too quickly though even while crouched he continues to be a powerful opponent alongside his brother.

6 Yhorm The Giant

Yhorm, the Giant from Dark Souls 3

With giant in his name it isn't surprising that Yhorm The Giant is one of the tallest bosses players will face in Dark Souls 3. Many who haven't played the title may remember him from the memes that show the Ashen One looking up at a towering Yhorm with his even bigger blade.

As seen by the Curse-Rotted Greatwood boss, the height measurements of these Dark Souls 3 bosses doesn't only include the humanoids that stand the tallest. Therefore, the Ancient Wyvern can also be included as one of the tallest bosses in the game.

As an optional foe to face, many players may have accidentally missed this ginormous Wyvern while exploring Dark Souls 3, however it is also one of the most eventual challenges as players can opt to not face this opponent head on. Instead, players can scale the ruins attacking smaller foes till they can reach the head of this mythical beast.

4 King Of The Storm

Arguably, the King of the Storm, also known as the Nameless King once his Wyvern has been killed isn't as tall as many other bosses of Dark Souls 3. However, when riding atop his Blue Wyvern the King of the Storm is sure to outmatch the height of many others when combining his own height with that of his mount.

In addition to this, even when losing his mount the Nameless King still towers over the player's character of the Ashen One. They can't forget his glorious hair that on its own likely adds a foot or two onto the opponent's height.

3 Iudex Gundyr

As the first boss players must face in Dark Souls 3 Iudex Gundyr starts the battle looking like a regular foe, that only outmatches the height of the Ashen One by a couple of feet. However, once the player has hit a health threshold on him, Iudex reveals a black sludge that not only unlocks more violent attacks but also towers above him from his neck.

Pontiff Sulyvahn is a great sorcerer that is as deadly as he is tall. While he may not be as tall as other bosses in Dark Souls 3, this supreme sorcerer continues to be a challenge to the player with his brutal combo of attacks.

Matching his height, Pontiff Sulyvahn holds a greatsword in each hand, a feat that only those that carry these weapons as if they were short swords would be able to do. As if he wasn't large enough, reducing his health to a certain mark will cause this already great foe to sprout wings.

1 Dancer Of The Boreal Valley

Concluding the tallest bosses of Dark Souls 3 is an opponent that has the potential to appear even taller if she were to stand completely upright. The Dance Of the Boreal Valley may constantly crouch during her combat due to treating her battles with finesse, but even while crouched she is one of the tallest women in the game.

Similar to Pontiff Sulyvahn, the Dancer wields a large Ash Sword in each hand that she holds with ease even when taking the position of a rogue as she crouches, gracefully moving around the player.
