In Days Gone Remastered, making the right selection of weapons for Deacon's current mission is the key to success. Players may have their inventory filled with powerful crafted items, but if they can't aim and shoot their enemies, they will waste valuable resources and have a much harder time completing missions.

Days Gone: Day and Night Cycle Explained

With the help of this guide, Days Gone players can figure out if it's best for them to come out during the day or wait until night.

If players are going on a stealth mission and lack a silencer, the Drifter Crossbow might be the way to go. However, if they're planning to shoot enemies from hundreds of meters away, a sniper might work best. This guide tells players what they need to know about storing weapons in Days Gone Remastered so they know how to switch their loadout according to their objective.

How to Store Weapons in Days Gone Remastered

How to Access a Gun Locker in Days Gone

To be able to store a weapon in Days Gone Remastered, players need to own it, which means they need to obtain it as a reward for making progress in a storyline or purchasing it at an encampment. Guns obtained this way become a permanent part of the player's arsenal in Days Gone and can be picked up at a gun locker at any time.

Players will find gun lockers at the O'Leary Mountain safehouse, gun merchants at encampments, Ambush Camp bunkers, and NERO Checkpoints. Here, gamers can pick their Primary, Sidearm, and Special weapons from a selection of owned guns.

It is not possible to store melee weapons in Days Gone.

Can You Keep Weapons You Find in Days Gone Remastered?

When players fight human enemies in Days Gone Remastered, they will drop the weapon that they were carrying, whether it's a melee or ranged weapon.

In some cases, players will want to take their fallen enemy's weapon. It could have better stats, they might've broken their melee and are in need of one, or it might just be a special weapon that isn't available for sale, such as the flamethrower. While gamers can pick up and take an enemy weapon in Days Gone, they cannot store it and use it later on.

For ranged weapons, once they drop it or switch it out for another item, it's gone. In the case of a melee weapon, gamers can either repair it with the Field Repair skill for as long as possible or part ways once its durability runs out.
