To survive in the world of Days Gone Remastered, gamers will have to gather materials. Some resources can be sold for Credits, which can be used to improve Deacon's bike or his arsenal, but others are exclusively useful when it comes to crafting. Players will need to craft healing items, distractions, cocktails that boost their stats, powerful explosives, bolts, and melee weapons.

Days Gone: 10 Melee Skills You Need To Unlock As Soon As Possible

There are 15 melee skills in Days Gone and some of them are worth unlocking as quickly as players can.

Players won't get access to all the crafting recipes as soon as they start the game, but they will unlock most of them as they continue to progress through it. This guide tells players how they can get every crafting recipe in Days Gone Remastered, so they know which storylines to prioritize to get access to the best items as soon as possible.

How to Craft in Days Gone

days gone remastered crafting menu

As gamers unlock crafting recipes in Days Gone, they will be added to their Survival Wheel. The Survival Wheel has eight categories, some of which feature acquired crafting recipes. To craft in Days Gone, players must open the Survival Wheel, select a category, pick the item they want to craft, and then select Craft. From distractions to brutal melee weapons and special crossbow bolts, there is a wide variety of crafting recipes in Days Gone Remastered.

In order to craft, gamers need enough materials. As they select a recipe, the required resources will appear in the center of the Survival Wheel. The number of necessary materials will appear on the left, and the number of materials in the player's inventory will appear on the right. If they do not have enough materials to craft a recipe, the material that the player lacks will appear in red.

Players will find materials all over the world in Days Gone. If they're having a hard time locating them, then they can activate Focus to highlight resources in the environment. There are a few skills that can make it easier for players to get resources and keep the craftables in their inventory at maximum capacity:

  • Survival Skills I - Eye for Detail: Increases the time that icons display in Survival Vision
  • Survival Skills I - Hawkeyed: Plants are displayed on the mini-map
  • Survival Skills II - Eagle-Eyed: Increases the range of Survival Vision
  • Survival Skills II - Green Thumb: Ability to gather double the plants when collecting them
  • Survival Skills IV - Carry That Weight: Increases inventory space for crafting components, traps, and throwables

The Field Repairs skill is also great if players tend to resort to craftable melee weapons often. It grants gamers the ability to repair melee weapons with scrap, which saves materials by giving players the chance to repair them before they break completely and have to be built once again.

Many of these recipes are unlocked by progressing through the various Storylines in Days Gone. If gamers are curious how close they are to unlocking a certain recipe, they can check their storyline progress in the Story menu.

While some storylines include missions that aren't mandatory for players who just want to complete the main story of Days Gone, progressing through them is the only way to acquire certain recipes, so they're still worth players' time.
