Even though ranged weapons might sound like they're the safest bet in a post-apocalyptic world, such as the one in Days Gone Remastered, melee weapons are just as important. In a one-on-one situation, players might not want to draw attention to themselves as this will undoubtedly attract Freakers, which is why, in some cases, they should resort to using melee weapons or a suppressor.
Days Gone: How to Get and Use a Suppressor
Players can silence their shots in Days Gone Remastered with the help of a suppressor - here's how to get one and attach it to a weapon.
Melee weapons are quite strong in Days Gone Remastered, but unfortunately, they do break - except the trusty boot knife, which may appear weak at first but is a crucial part of Deacon's arsenal. Nevertheless, there is a way for players to repair their melee weapons in order to prevent them from fully breaking, and this guide will show them exactly how to do it.
How to Repair Melee Weapons in Days Gone Remastered
Players can repair melee weapons in Days Gone, but the option to do it isn't available from the get-go; it requires gamers to unlock one of the many skills available in Days Gone Remastered.
To repair a melee weapon in Days Gone Remastered, players must acquire the Field Repairs Skill. Once they have it, they can repair it by opening the Survival Wheel, selecting the melee weapon section of the wheel, and applying scrap to it to bring it back to 100 percent durability.
While there are melee weapons that are easily craftable, requiring only a few materials that are easy to come by, some of the best melee weapons in Days Gone cannot be crafted at all and must be found. If players use them enough times, they will reach their limit and break, and this is when Field Repairs comes in particularly handy. Instead of waiting for it to respawn, gamers can simply repair with scrap every time its durability goes down.
How to Unlock the Field Repairs Skill in Days Gone Remastered
The Field Repairs Skill is a Level 1 Melee Skill, which means in order to unlock it, gamers must earn enough XP to level up at least once and invest a skill point into the Melee Skills category. To get XP in Days Gone, players have to kill Freakers, complete missions, and side jobs.
Then, they can choose between Escape Artists, Field Repairs, and Juice Up, and if being able to repair melee weapons with scrap is their priority, then they should opt for Field Repairs first.
