Days Gone Remastered received a new update on October 20, 2025, bringing it up to version 1.036.180. This update adds a new feature to Days Gone Remastered, one it now shares with a handful of other PlayStation-published titles.
Originally released in April 2019, Days Gone was met with a mixed reception at launch. While some reviewers praised the impressive scale of Days Gone's Freaker hordes, most criticized its lackluster open world, overly long story, and repetitive gameplay. But in spite of that critical reception, Days Gone has managed to gain quite a cult following over the last six years, one loud enough to warrant a remaster of the game in April 2025, which added shinier graphics, a new permadeath mode, wave mode, and speedrun mode.
Days Gone Remastered Releases 1.036.180 Patch
As of October 2025's 1.036.180 patch, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro owners can now play Days Gone Remastered in Power Saver mode. Added to the consoles as part of a firmware update back in September 2025, Power Saver mode reduces the amount of energy the console consumes at the cost of lower performance during gameplay. Days Gone Remastered is the second PlayStation-published title to receive a Power Saver mode update, with two more confirmed to be receiving one soon. The current list of Power Saver titles includes:
- Demon's Souls
- Days Gone Remastered
- Ghost of Yotei (Yet to receive update)
- Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (Yet to receive update)
To enable Power Saver mode, players need to head into their PS5 or PS5 Pro's console settings and head on over to 'System'. Once there, scroll down to the 'Power Saving' tab, and turn the feature on. A list of compatible games installed on the console will then appear, prompting players to switch on the mode for each title.
Of course, turning on Power Saver mode does take a toll on the gameplay experience. According to ResetEra users sharing their firsthand experience using the Power Saver mode, Demon's Souls runs at 30FPS, and its graphical fidelity takes a noticeable hit. This is likely to be the case for all games compatible with PlayStation's Power Saver mode, including Days Gone Remastered.
While no other games have been confirmed by name, Sony has stated that more titles are set to receive a Power Saver mode update in the future. What's more is that some believe this Power Saver mode is actually a tease for the next handheld PlayStation console. Recent rumors from leaker Kepler suggest that PlayStation's next generation of hardware could feature a handheld device that uses similar Power Saver technology to get games running natively on the device at a lower framerate and fidelity. Though, of course, these are only rumors for now.
