Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

One of the best games of the last years!!!

I love this game, made me fall in love with gaming again.

It took few hours to get into the game. I started to really enjoy it on the second act and the more I play the more I get addicted. I can't wait for a DLC or the next opus. It's been a long time since I played a turn-based game of this quality. Managing counter in critical moment is pure pleasure. There's so much to talk about, the world, creatures, characters... A must try to get hooked.

Best game of the year. The storyline is amazing and the soundtrack is phenomenal. Game play is even difficult in story mode for newbies like me. It gets really hard at expert level for true gamers. Definitely a must play.

Clear Obscur Expedition 33 Is a 10/10 game its worthy of a top 5 games of all time mention in my opinion and after remaster after remaster and the amount of filth the gaming industry has been shovelling down out throats the past 10 years Sandfall deserve all the praise with zero microtransactions and only 45 GBP on PSN this game is worth every penny.

One of the greatest RPGs ever made. Any complaints or gripes I may have about the game are so minor that they can't detract from the perfection that is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I can't wait to see what Sandfall does next.

Thanks to its amazing soundtrack and art direction this game is highly memorable, but unfortunately the gameplay and combat feels very repetitive over time and not very unique. The characters and overall atmopshere of this game is very good, but I find the writing and pacing of the story very inconsistent across all the acts. This game is indeed a big achievement for the debute studio, but it feels that the narrative around the game is more interesting than the game itself.

I have never recommended a game so much before. I have a few gripes with it (namely the funky UI, the QTEs, and the iffy dodge windows), but otherwise, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an absolute gem of a game.

Despite it's flaws it's the best game I saw in 2025.

Definitely goty. I was skeptical because it was turn based and the story is amazing so far. The review might change if they pull some B's but so far so good

Are there Bones to pick? Yes, some Minnigames are not fun with Mouse and Keyboard.

Too many dead Expedition corpses. ( Sometimes less is more) and a few other things.

But in the Light of a little Team are these "Problems" irrelevant. Can't wait for their next Game. Maybe in the same "Universe"?

What an awesome game front start to end. a very rewarding game once you've mastered all the different mechanics. Soundtrack was spot on and the story was full of detail! Highly recommended

Clair Obscure Expedition 33 is an interesting experience. It's greatest strength is undoubtedly its story and characters. This game is great at producing a really immersive world that draws the player in and getting them invested in the stories of its heroes. The experiment of mixing real-time with turn-based combat also works to great effect, even if muscle memory can sometimes get in the way.

My biggest criticism would be how the game caps the party at 3 people. This wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that, with some exceptions, the people not in your party are supposed to be present. So no matter which three you have, the others will almost always appear in cutscenes and be clearly shown getting ready when a boss appears, only to inexplicably disappear as soon as it starts. This has a really jarring effect and makes me wonder if it would have been better to not include a limit at all. There's only a maximum of five playable characters at any given time anyway so you'd think it would make sense.

My other big criticism would be the lack of objective markers. A map is only available in the overworld portions and a lot of the game's settings are mazelike, so it is easy to end up getting stuck wandering around in circles trying to find one objective. Having a marker, or at least a map, would be a good way to address that issue.

That said, the game does a really good job at pacing and moving you forward. Some of the turn-based mechanics can be hard to understand, but you don't necessarily need to. Getting the basics is usually enough. The ability to react to enemy attacks does add an interesting twist to the format, though timing a parry, dodge, or jump can be really difficult.

Overall, I don't think the shortcomings of Clair Obscur Expedition 33 are enough to dismiss it outright. Sure, it's not perfect, but it is an engaging story-driven RPG that makes for a very unique experience.

Best Game ever to see the planet of earth.

I've been playing this game now for about 20+ hours and I have come across several things that should be noted as you play. Especially in the area of attribute allocations. You will notice that you have 5 areas that you can allocate attribute points. What you want to look for is the areas that allocate the single attribute to multiple areas and then fill in the rest, in this way you are allocating to all areas such as Health, attack power, speed, defense, and critical rate. I didn't start noticing it until maybe after 15 hours of gameplay, anyways, if you allocate this way your characters will build a lot quicker than just allocating to a single area. When you play again just look for the areas that allocate a single attribute point to several areas and then use the remaining points to fill in what wasn't leveled up. It's an excellent way to build your characters attributes that way none of your 3 points that you obtain from one level is wasted on a single location.
