The world is vibrant and full of depth, and the combat is some of the best in any RPG. That said, traversal could have been better—mounts would’ve made a huge difference. Still, it’s a unique entry in the genre that’s worth experiencing.

DD2 has all the elements of an RPG you'd expect, and I found both the story and the environment to be really satisfying. If I was to offer critique, it would be how tedious the fast-travel system is. Using the carts is all well and good until you're attacked and it gets destroyed, then you're halfway between your start and ending point. I don't mind exploration, but if I'm using fast-travel, it's to skip it.

Dragon's Dogma 2 has one of the most interesting open-worlds I have ever explored. The scenery is incredible and being somewhat forced to adventure on foot is right up my ally as I have always enjoyed taking in the sights and finding something that I may have never seen while fast traveling.
The story is unfortunately the weakest part of this experience, with it being quite short for how large the world feels and only really getting exciting when accessing the Hidden True Ending.

Disappointing and I had very low expectations after playing the first. I can't understand the hype around this series in all honesty.
