En Garde is a fun homage to the old swashbuckling films of Errol Flynn with an emphasis on swordplay and over-the-top action. The game's dueling mechanics allow some strategy without being overwhelmed by a complicated range of combinations. The story is simple, but made entertaining by fun characters and witty humor, with Adalia being quite lovable. The biggest flaw ultimately is just how short the game is, which limits its ability to fully develop its characters and story.
Also, YOU CAN PET CHICKENS! There are chickens running around all over the game world and the game lets you pet them! There's even an achievement for it.
